if this goes well, it's gonna be a party like no other. not only is Die Young making their triumphant return after a year ban from Canada, but AK47 is playing one of their first shows in a LONG time. Come out and tell Tony Goluza what a rad dude he is. - Tue, 17 Jun 2008 8:37pm

Well (and I'm sure this will be thrown over to show reviews pretty quick) things could have gone a lot worse. People showed up. People seemed to have fun. Life was grand. Two things.

A) Thanks to everyone who came, had a good time, and was respectful of the venue, and everyone else. This was about 99% of the people there, and they make even the stupidly stressful nights seem better. Thank you thank you thank you.

B) To whoever tagged the holy fuck out of the men's restroom: Fuck you. Seriously. Did no one tell you how to treat a venue? At all? Are you five? Jason (the owner/operator of the Sunset Room) is being ridiculously nice and letting me come in and paint, so I get to keep my damage deposit. This is far kinder than he honestly needs to be. However, I still am losing my time, and will probably have a harder time getting the Sunset Room for shows. Try to use your heads, children. We have a limited number of all-ages venues, and stupid shit like this is why.

Thanks again to everyone who came out.

solid show. Sucks Die Young couldnt play but still lots of fun. Soo happy to see ak-47 again. People were all nice.

To the person who tagged the bathroom: are you serious? Hitting a spot that should be respected. Fucking toy... - Wed, 25 Jun 2008 11:55pm

thanks austin for the show, it was a great line-up even without Die Young - again, fucking immigration, thats just ludicrous.

Street sharks fucking rule! its like a car crash, you're compelled to look even though it's horrendous. awesome stuff!

Wasn't digging...Apparatus Theory so much, just not my thing I guess but what i heard was...ok.

Mayday! Mayday, seriously addicting stuff & with a bassist now, that's just insane! when you play with a Textbook Tragedy soon it is going to destroy my mind I think!

AK-47 were really great to see, lots of memories from when I first moved to victoria & a really solid set, loved the new songs - vocals could have been alot higher but tony GoollluuuuuuZZa don't need no levels - nobodys coooooolah - but seriously folks, this was a teaser for VI HC FEST!!!!!

thanks again to Austin and a big fuck you to the Tagging douchebaggery - - Thu, 26 Jun 2008 12:07am

I'd forgotten how intense AK are, hyped to see them again in the not too distant future.

Oh, and Street Sharks were pure art. But you all surely knew that already. - Thu, 26 Jun 2008 11:21am

Pauly, those pics are rad, as usual.

I don't remember what the tag looked like, but I'll take a pic of it before I paint over it, so if anyone knows who this shitbag is, we can sit him/her down and let them know how wrong they were.

All the bands were awesome, so thank YOU guys for playing the show and helping the kids have fun. - Thu, 26 Jun 2008 10:13pm
