groovetunes User Info... | Anybody go to the show on Tuesday? - Thu, 29 May 2008 4:06pm
Ty Stranglehold User Info... | HAHAHAHA!!! Holy crap was Frankie ever WASTED!!!! Dude could barely get two words out per verse and holding himself up with the mic stand! Rough to say the least... Keg Killers ruled it as per usual and the Doublecuts learned that polyester tracksuits are only good on stage in the winter. - Thu, 29 May 2008 8:14pm
Dolph User Info... | I think Ty was not at the show. - Sat, 31 May 2008 8:47am
CHICO User Info... | Hello Ty Stranglehold... My first question I have to ask of you is....How old are you?....how many times have you seen the HEAD??.....have you seen them in the lasy 10-15 years??....how far back do you go with the history of the band??....My take on your reply is that you are and might be just a young punk wannabe trying desperately hard to grow pubic hair who really doesn't have a frickin' clue to who Frankie Venom really is or where that man who is legend has been !!!......that was nothing short of a slag his way !!....and I will say from Ontario directly to YOU !!.......I really doubt your critique of the show....were you possibly wasted as well??....hang on to all of your appendages brother...it sounds like you might have needed some help in walking yourself that night!!!...signed, CHICO from Ontario.... - Sat, 31 May 2008 4:07pm
Sati User Info... | GASP! Tell us you don't have the audacity to imply that a fine upstanding young man like Ty had been imbibing at a bar show! Thats really crossing the line. (btw, 1st time posters usually have to confirm their accounts before posts can go through) - Sun, 1 Jun 2008 7:59pm Edited: Sun, 1 Jun 2008 8:00pm
Ty Stranglehold User Info... | Uh-oh, I've upset Ontario. What to do now? I guess wether or not I'm a "young punk" would depend on how old your wrinkled ass is. To answer you honestly I'm 35 and I've been involved in all this punk stuff since I was 12. I've been a fan of, and seen Teenage Head play a number of times. This time they sucked. A friend of mine from Hamilton (and grew up with Frankie's nephew) was standing next to me and said the exact thing that I did. He walked out two songs before I did. The last time they played here, it was flat out amazing! I was in awe and that is what I was expecting for this show. Hell, the rest of the band looked pissed off at him as well. As for me being wasted, as luck would have it (for my rebuttal anyways), I did not have a drop of booze on the night in question. As rare as that is, such is the case. I'm thinking that I would have enjoyed myself a hell of a lot more if I was drunk. So Chico and Dolph and all of Ontario, I ask you this? Why are licking the ass of your heroes? One of the most important parts of punk rock is that you gotta lose the idol worship. Band and crowd are all the same and anyone can get up there and do it. I have a lot of bands that I love. I mean LOVE! That's great, support your music scene. The thing is, it doesn't matter who the fuck it is, if I see them play a shitty show (and I will repeat Frankie Venom put on a WEAK SHOW in Victoria last week) I will call them on it. If I play a shitty show, I expect someone to call me on it. It's just a matter of being honest with each other. anything else? - Sun, 1 Jun 2008 8:20pm
ROSS B AY User Info... | Easy chico, you have no clue who you're talking to, son........take it easy. - Mon, 2 Jun 2008 5:30am
paulyhardcore User Info... | yeah Chico needs a little time in the Hoosegow. I've also heard the same thing from anyone who went to the vic TH show - so I find it hard to believe a douche from ontario knows what happened better than the actual concert-goers. I'm from ontario and that post made me cringe - Mon, 2 Jun 2008 5:36am
Bob Z User Info... | Did you misread the band lineup and expect to see Frankie Valli. Frankie Venom is a legend and you get what he gives you. - Tue, 3 Jun 2008 3:05pm
Dolph User Info... | Its too bad that all these western fucks don't get to see the band often enough otherwise they'd understand that this happens. Being the road manager for the band I see the good and the bad as some would say. As far as Mr punk is concerned he's still too young to know that good or bad that's what a punk show is about. I guess when the pistols came out at a show, played 2 songs and then the singer decided that he didn't want to play anymore that would be a crappy show. Probably would want his money back as well. Guy's there is no use slagging the band or each other. I apolagize for the "western fucks" but will not retract and I don't kiss ass you young shit. Ty has his points, he saw an amazing show last time, but unfortunatly Teenage Head is a punk band and you have to accept what you see and enjoy it for what its worth or fuck off and remember what the word punk means. Actually Ty comes across it fine. I did not belive Ty's post because I was told otherwise by people who were at the show and the members themselves. Sorry if we hurt your feelings - Tue, 3 Jun 2008 4:55pm
ROSS B AY User Info... | Go ahead and give Tyler his money back. - Tue, 3 Jun 2008 4:59pm
Dolph User Info... | Fuck that - Tue, 3 Jun 2008 5:05pm
Ty Stranglehold User Info... | Thank you for an actual response Dolph. Sorry for lumping you in with Chico in the "ass licking" dept. It was directed at him. I agree with what you say about this happening at punk shows and it being a part of it. I've taken the stage way too drunk myself. All I said was an honest review of the show as that is what the first poster in this thread asked for. Frankie was drunk and I thought he sucked (the rest of the band sounded great). It wasn't a slag at Teeange Head, it was just the truth. Again, to those who are saying "He's a legend, he can do what he wants" (chico and Bob Z) I still say you're licking ass. If someone plays a shitty show, they play a shitty show. You can't polish a turd no matter how legendary it is. Just accept it, and hope the next show is better (as I am). Now Dolph, I have long considered Teenage Head to be Canada's Ramones. That's a fact. I love that Marky did a (great) record with them. I'm sure you know Dee Dee Ramone was the king of all fuck ups. Marky and Joey were raging alcholics. You might also know that no matter what they were on, the show would NEVER suffer. EVER. If it did, they were fined. Happened again, and they were out. I guess what I'm getting at is that yeah punk rock is all about "who gives a fuck" and all that, but doesn't there come a time when you WANT to play well. I know that if I was Frankie and I had all of those great songs under my belt, I'd make damn sure I was out there KILLING it on the road! I hope that it was just an off show. I'll check them out again next time and let you know. By the way, if the Pistols did come out and play two songs and leave I would say it was a crappy show. That doesn't mean the Pistols are crappy, just that particular show. No one hurt my feelings but thanks for the apology anyways. - Tue, 3 Jun 2008 9:12pm
CL User Info... | Stranglehold, WTF? You been using fake ID all the times you played at the bar? - Tue, 3 Jun 2008 11:09pm
ROSS B AY User Info... | I'm not going to say it again. Give Tyler his god damned money back. - Wed, 4 Jun 2008 5:25am
Dolph User Info... | Good day Ty. I wish people like you were around more in Ontario. I can tell by your response that you are the real thing. Most of the Ontario fans are a little "fanatic" when it comes to the Head. "They can do no wrong" is the attitude and it can be a little bit tedious at times. Many times Frank has been a little too much on stage and I have to catch him before he falls into the drum kit or after the show the comments in the dressing room can fly. I know if I had been there the outcomes could have been better. Being a R.M. can be a little like babysitting when one of the gang has a penchent for excess. I am a little busy with the day job thing at this time of the season. I hope someday soon I can get out there with the band and run things my way. I hope you and your band can get out our way someday as well. The Pistols did do that in 78 in San Fransisco. Johnny was doing his best to be as he is and the response from the crowd was more and more cheering. Seemed he didn't dig the crowds enthusisum and pulled the old legendary "ever get the feeling you've been cheated" and walked off. Chico is a true fan. He started seeing the band in Hamilton back in 78' and has never stopped. I became freinds with him a few years ago and occasionally he comes on the road with me so he has gotten even closer than ever to the guy's. He's not kissing ass, he's just passionate. Hope to see you in the future Ty, so we can down a few and do what we do best, Have fun and Fuck what people think. Dolph - Wed, 4 Jun 2008 6:52am
Dolph User Info... | Sorry Ross. Not our policy to give refunds. You are welcome to buy a C.D. from the official site tho' - Wed, 4 Jun 2008 6:55am
Ty Stranglehold User Info... | Well, it looks like we worked that one out. Cooler heads prevail, as they say. NICE! I will definitely down a few drinks will you some day. Trying to work out an Eastern Canadaian tour for next year. Oh and don't mind ROSS, he's just my accountant! HA HA - Wed, 4 Jun 2008 7:04am
Dolph User Info... | Should see if you can get on a show with the Head when you come around. keep me posted - Wed, 4 Jun 2008 10:51am
CHICO User Info... | Hey Ty.... Since cooler HEADS have prevailed as you say, I will as well, step up here and come clean with you by posting here...and offer up a handshake bro...I guess I read your laughter right off the bat in your original post and it sent me the wrong direction in how I should have been looking at it all...as Dolph said, yes, I am passionate about the band, maybe a lot more than others, I just know 30 years and too many good times with them and the memories are all good...so, I do tend to be quite biased in my opinion and I am quick to defend when negativity or bullshit comes their way....no harm done by way of any words spoken in either direction. Maybe someday, should you make it out east to play and find yourself on the bill with the boys, we just might meet and laugh this one off..cheers Ty !!....CHICO - Sun, 8 Jun 2008 9:43am
Sati User Info... | um, again, you have to confirm your account for your posts to be seen. I wonder how many people I've pissed off saying that my favorite bands/musicians/people have played shitty shows. Happens all the time with my favorites. I think its impressive when musicians relax enough to risk falling on their asses in front of their fans once in a while. Glad this all worked out between y'all. - Mon, 9 Jun 2008 6:57pm Edited: Mon, 9 Jun 2008 6:58pm
