Saturday, October 12, 2002 GWAR Also featuring: Cattle Decapitation and Bloodlet but i shall go into much more detail then that. first off, the venue, the place it was supposed to be held at....was too small as an extra 2000 people showed up outside hours before the show, so they moved it down the street to a slightly bigger club. but this club fucking sucked. the stage was down in a pit, with the crowd around it on tiers and balconies. so unless you were up front or standing on something, you could see shit, and there was so little room that the mosh pit area was way in the back on a large balcony. i will give credit to the sound engineers though, they made the show sound great in an unfamilier venue even though the views sucked. but before i even got into the club at about 7:30...the lovely Ft Lauderdale Police show up and try to pull the places liquor licence which almost caused the show to be shut down.....causing the show to delay until 9:00! fuckin A! but once in side, Cattle Decapitation took the "stage" and the fucking rocked, mediocre guitar playing, but thier drummer was going insane. vocals were similiar to COF with deep vocals and high pitched screams..but much much better then dani could ever pull off. there was one funny part when some guy yelled "you suck" the singer responed with "well what the fuck did you expect?-Papa Roach?" at that point the drummer went into double bass and they played a really really fast hi tempo song that made the crowd go insane. i bought one of thier cd's on the way out. next up was Bloodlet, they were okay, i guess, i almost fell asleep during thier set, so i only stayed through half of it, and went to the bar. i found this one fat chick of whom would buy me a beer if i made out with her, so i was like, whatever, we went in the back, kissed, she gave me a bj and i sucked her tits, then she bought me 3 hienikens. woohoo. if only i could have gotten some vodka, but oh well. GWAR didnt even hit the stage till almost 11, but when they came out, "holy fucking shit"(see). im not a huge fan, so i only reconized a few somgs, so i couldnt tell you the complete setlist, but shit, they definatly live up to thier live criteria, shooting fake blood, cum and other things into the crowd, causing you and the floor to get soaked which made moshing even more intense. people were jumping off shit, blaconies, tier, onto the stage, 4 people got kicked out cause they hurt some people doing it. gwar played for 90 minutes. that place was destroyed, metal bars were broken, the bar was raided afterwards, gwar tore that place a new asshole with thier fast beats and wicked guitar playing, fire shows and on stage antics, i know this wasnt the best of reviews, but go see this fucking show if it comes to you! you wont be disapointed! trust me! - Mon, 21 Oct 2002 7:18pm | ||
