This show was so worth traveling for. Quick jaunt across the water a stop at the gas station to get some cheap american beer and we are good to go!

First band of the night was Children, the latest branch of the STREETS family tree. Holy shit! To say these guys are amazing is an understatement. 10 minute epics with lots of texture and melody balanced out by mind numbingly fast guitar work. With songs titles like Nuclear Bummer and Death Tribe there is no way you can go wrong. One day you will be lucky enough to see these guys in Canada.

Next up was Bison. These guys are always amazing. I still have bruises from the last show and if they were playing tonight i would go again and get some more.

Pride Tiger is up next. I always like seeing these guys but i have to say i was thankful for a shortish set. I think i was just stuck in Hesher mode. some mix problems here too. all in all a good set. All the crucial tunes were covered.

STREETS. the whole reason for the trip. AMAZING set. you could totally feel the energy oozing in every song. you also get the correct impression that this is a band that ended before its time. these guys totally loving playing together. lots of chants, lots of interband participation. and the mosh. We got rad! I totally miss this band but at the same time i am happy with all that has spawned since.

One of the coolest parts about the whole thing was the massive BC turnout. Huge east van presence and sadly only the four of us from Victoria i think. One dude sporting a Turbojugend Nanaimo patch. The non venue locals were a little weirded out by the sea of Canadian plates and the locals at the show were beyond stoked that we were there.

Casualties: food poisoning (not me), one broken toe (also not me), the pain of being awake to meet your hangover (unanimous).

^ oh c'mon, was that necessary? If so I should just give up now.

(Not related to you SJoe), but there seem to be some thinly veiled jabs at bands going on on this board lately, I just wanted to make clear that "they're all each others biggest fans" wasn't meant to be one. I love that about these guys. The ones that I know, anyway. - Sun, 4 May 2008 6:17pm Edited: Sun, 4 May 2008 6:18pm

He was referring to Post Poc's ongoing use of the word amazing in his review. No need to get worked up. - Mon, 5 May 2008 6:35am

I knew he what he was referring to. I wasn't worked up and I wrote it assuming SJoe wouldn't get worked up about it either. Thanks for your concern though. - Mon, 5 May 2008 4:11pm Edited: Mon, 5 May 2008 4:12pm

many apologies for the limited vocabulary but given the mental state at the time of the review i would say the lack of variety is excusable. - Thu, 8 May 2008 6:57pm

You were saying it was amazing. Certainly nothing wrong with that. - Thu, 8 May 2008 9:07pm
