::Saint:: User Info... | Yeah, I play in DeviceBox, so I will refrain from giving a review of our own set, aside from saying that I think we managed to avoid any major screw-ups, and we all had a good time. Gotta work on those dynamics, though, but I think we were solid. No idea what it sounded like to the audience though -- if anyone wanted to provide some feedback, it would be much appreciated! Anyway, I did want to say that Kohurshun were fantastic on many levels: they are great musicians, and very good performers, and their set felt really organic and natural. There is a ton of charisma and genuine camaraderie onstage, which really made the whole thing for me. And if I can say one thing - production value! Seriously, this band is devoted - they have obviously invested a lot of heard-earned dollars in making something unique - between their giant banner, the light show show, and the smoke machine they brought in. Very cool. That whole "Let's introduce the band members" thing was an interesting choice, I have to say -- you don't see a lot of that happening these past two decades or so, and it had the potential to be a little cheese-ball, but it was pulled off with such honesty and genuineness that it worked, and really demonstrated the depth of respect those guys have for each other. Very cool, guys - bravo! I think the biggest thing for me was the fact that they were all just genuinely nice people -- immediately after we finished our set they were up on stage shaking our hands and telling us what a good job we had done -- other bands have done this (and many have not even bothered to say hello, I might add) and it doesn't always ring true, but I really felt like they genuinely meant their kind words. I thought it was pretty cool that each of them seemed to go out of their way to say something to each one of us, and shake our hands. I'm sure we would all love to share the stage with these guys again, and they were a treat to listen to and watch onstage! Thanks guys! - Wed, 26 Mar 2008 11:42am | ||
