Standing on the edge
Of the Hoover Dam
I'm on the centerline
Right between two states of mind
And if the wind from the traffic
Should blow me away
...
If the Mississippi should wash me away
Down to New Orleans
Maybe someday in my dreams
I'd wake feeling the sweat
From the gulf in my mouth

I love that one cuz i remember my old friend chad singing that one one night. i hope he's there.

He can be a little grumpy so I just hope he takes as much care with his songs as he did on this one:

Well, I woke up this morning singing a song he hadn't even sung last night. The night was yum.

I'd said to friends before it started that it'd be great just to hear See a Little Light & Hoover Dam. They were like the 3rd & 4th songs! I was over the moon with Little Light and almost lost it hearing the intro to HD start up right after.

I've never seen him live before and was struck at how happy & healthy he looked. I was kind of crushing out too (yes, I know). His band looked really stoked to be playing with him. The room seemed not even half full - can you believe THAT???! But all very appreciative & loud. They came back out 3x at the end I think.

He played a LOT of familiar ones including, Makes No Sense at all, Changes, Good Idea, Circles, I am vision I am sound and If I can't change your mind

Even over-exhausted from a busy wknd I still thoroughly enjoyed it... still feel bathed in a lot of the best stuff in his catalogue, so it was a powerful night.

I wished more of his fans had made it out though. :(
It was the kind of thing thats meant to be shared with old friends. - Mon, 31 Mar 2008 10:14pm Edited: Mon, 31 Mar 2008 10:19pm

I am so mad that I couldn't get over for that show. I saw Sugar at the Commordore in 94 and it was mind blowing to say the least.

One day he will reunite with Hart and Norton. I think a Husker Du reunion would make my life complete.

I'm glad it ruled for you! Jealous, but glad. - Wed, 2 Apr 2008 7:41pm

Next time we'll have to make it a point to get everyone out!
He looked like he was having a good time - you know how people look kinda ragged by the end of their tour, well they looked fresh and it was their last night. So you'll get another chance.

I almost got a t-shirt cuz they were nice and only $10. I remembered a friend being so offended that Meshuggah t's were $40 and he thought it was total contempt for their fans - so $10! Woohoo! But too big.
And I talked with someone who remembered Celebrated Summer, Could You Be The One? and I Apologize that night.
And he did Hanging Tree. - Fri, 4 Apr 2008 9:59pm Edited: Fri, 4 Apr 2008 9:59pm
