T. Depression User Info... | I'm pretty new to town, and haven't been out to too many shows yet, but the show last night was a good time. The Vicious Cycles kicked the night off in fine form with their motorcycle themed rock'n'roll. Fun stuff...cool integration of the theramin into their numbers. I'd see these guys again for sure. I was really impressed by Hank and Lily, though. Victoria is lucky to have 'em. In a city that produces so much scuzz punk, it's nice to see something original...and these guys were great in a live setting. Probably the best band in town...though I have yet to see 'em all. The Zipp Guns were up last...and we left part way into the second song. A little to much testosterone and I was anticipating a lot of spontaneous yeahs and awrights from the singer. I've seen enough of that shit to last me 3 lifetimes, thank you. The actual derby was a good time too...great turnout, so we can expect more bouts in the near future, I'm sure. Hopefully, they wiill put together more shows afterwards, with decent line-ups, like this one. - Sun, 30 Sep 2007 10:42am
Sati User Info... | Good to hear you found something you were into... how new to town are you, and how many shows have you seen, if you don't mind me asking? Are you a fan of many local bands yet?! - Thu, 4 Oct 2007 9:47pm
T. Depression User Info... | I've been in Victoria for almost 3 months now...I've been busy so I've only been out to a handful of shows (say 7 or 8). I have to say, I'm not a fan of many local bands at all. The first band that I was really impressed by was Hank and Lily...I mean as far as somebody doing something interesting and original. The All Your Ears can Hear show was fun too...but thta was mostly nostalgia, right? Everything else I've seen so far has been pretty run of the mill...especially the punk shows... - Fri, 5 Oct 2007 3:05pm
