trevor corey User Info... | Finally a show I could wear my custom made Goat Rodeo shirt. Six piece band with three guitar players. Kind of psychedelic kind of Sloan meets Mazzy Starr meets Cowboy Junkies with a righteousness all their own. The only disapointment was that Lucky had no single malt. Trevor had to drink rye. Canadian music kicks ass! - Sat, 29 Sep 2007 2:11am Edited: Sat, 29 Sep 2007 4:10am
Haden User Info... | I missed it. Shit. And I would've been able to finally pick you out in a crowd! How were the Hylozists? (I can't spell) - Sun, 30 Sep 2007 1:34pm
trevor corey User Info... | They were good. Trippy, but good. - Sun, 30 Sep 2007 5:05pm
Yo Mama User Info... | I also liked what I heard...though it was a bit presumptuous to tell the crowd, 'Shhhhhh!' when it's a freaking rock show. I understand many people left at that point. - Tue, 2 Oct 2007 4:34pm
trevor corey User Info... | I understood, and I was not at all offended. Many of their songs start off slow and build up to a crescendo of psychedelicness, and if you miss the quiet beginning of the song, you miss out on the whole experience. I know it was difficult for many to be told to "shut the fuck up", but for me it was a queue to pay attention and listen carefully to something the artist was confident about wanting us to listen to. - Wed, 3 Oct 2007 1:07am
Yo Mama User Info... | Don't get me wrong. I like the band. But many have said before - give the crowd a reason to listen to your band, don't tell them why they should listen to your band. If you've got a sold out crowd (which it was) it's safe to assume that a good share of the people are fans. - Wed, 3 Oct 2007 9:35am
Troy User Info... | i came for Hylozoists and Hong Kong stayed for most of Hylozoists set.. which i enjoyed a lot, my friend was tired and she wanted to go home so we left. didn't get to see any of Besnard.. otherwise i enjoyed the show and talked to some friends. i agree with trevor on the artists telling audience to be quiet... but then wahtever i'm never loud and talking a lot when a band is playing as i like to take it all in.. but then bar shows are usually like that so i put up with it.. l - Wed, 3 Oct 2007 3:40pm
trevor corey User Info... | ........and I agree with Yo Mama, telling your crowd to "shut the fuck up" is over the top for most people. I'm just saying it didn't bother me. - Wed, 3 Oct 2007 4:14pm
Haden User Info... | Most of those people were probably fans, but it sucks if the few that aren't and talk through everything are loud for those that are trying to hear. But I wasn't there, so my opinion...not so applicable. Wouldn't have bothered me. Though, I go to watch the band, not socialize in most cases. - Thu, 4 Oct 2007 7:40pm
