Resist and Exist not being able to make it aside, this ended up being a pretty good show.

Resist the Right weren't really my thing but weren't bad. Leper absolutely floored me and have definitely achieved a degree of technicality and precision that very few bands associated with "punk" can match. Eleutheros were decent, again not really so much my style but they did their thing well. Iskra were awesome as always, Scott's amazing vocals reminded how much he'll be missed as their vocalist. Plus I got an awesome Enemy Soil CD from Wolf's distro, so a satisfying night all in all. - Sat, 8 Sep 2007 3:52pm

I still don't understand how an anarchist event can take place.
All the organization, scheduling and timelines. Rules and regulations have to be followed with the venue. A true anarchist would never be able to be a part of something like this. - Sat, 8 Sep 2007 4:04pm

I was wondering how long it would take for somebody to make a post in this thread intended to start an argument. Apparently the answer is about 10 minutes. - Sat, 8 Sep 2007 6:18pm Edited: Sat, 8 Sep 2007 6:18pm

Yea but you know what..at least they are fighting for what is right. So what if it goes too far sometimes...do you think they are going too far in an evil or negative way? No...just try to see where their hearts are and you'll realize that they are much better people for it than you or anyone else who are trying to justify your meaningless existances. They're trying to do good in a world that is 99% pieces of shit that are collectively contributing to the destruction of our planet and in the end, ourselves - Sat, 8 Sep 2007 6:30pm

Actually, I wasn't attacking anarchy. If anything, I lean more towards that ideal than full government interference.
Thanks for preaching though. You have earned a big, bright gold star for your efforts. - Sat, 8 Sep 2007 7:26pm

this show was okay. there's this thing where I have gone to like 5 iskra shows and ALWAYS missed iskra because of having something else to go to later, or getting turned off by earlier bands, or something. I had picked up the iskra LP and 7" ages ago and they were amazing, really good, so I figured since apparently iskra were going on hiatus, I had to do it this time.

I don't like the average political crust/grind band. it seems like the average band in these genres puts their music at a lower priority than their messages. as a result, the messages aren't effective to me, because there's no subtlety and thought. I tend to gravitate more towards the arty grind, "screamy"-leaning stuff like orchid, and that sort of thing. I really don't care much for bands that do everything in black and white - their demo, their political messages, everything, life just isn't like that to me.

I understand that it doesn't make sense that I love iskra, because of how political they are. but the music is so good, so powerful, the imagery they use is beautiful. great band.

anyway, most of the material at the fair I wasn't interested in. I did, however, pick up an awesome Ebullition compilation with bands like Portraits of Past, as well as a zine featuring Envy. so that was cool. friends of mine like kayleigh, her friend meaghan, bubba, hari, and troy made this a bit more worthwhile. so did my conversation with conrad about wheatpasting, which is awesome.

Eleutheros were really average to me. Iskra were pretty good, but I just don't connect with the atmosphere of a show like this. I'll still come to support them when there's bands I like playing them, and I'll still dig through distros for stuff I like, I'm just saying that bullet belts, studs, and certain bands aren't for me. I left after Iskra. - Sun, 9 Sep 2007 10:54pm

I love the sense of anarchy I feel during a big snowstorm. Like when the authorities are so busy with major problems they don't have the time or man power to bother me with things like parking on a yellow, or smoking a bit o bud at the park. Anarchy to me means freedom. Unfortunatly, as young Andrew mentioned in an above post, we live in """"a world that is 99% pieces of shit that are collectively contributing to the destruction of our planet and in the end, ourselves"""", and I worry that those people couldn't handle it. - Mon, 17 Sep 2007 10:53pm
