I don't mind admitting that it was my first live NMN show ever!!
I'm quite blown away by the entire evening. Good gawd, these people are fucking intense and also play better than my imagination has room for. I now have proof that I will play none of those three instruments better than I just witnessed . Many on this board know exactly what I'm talking about and most will also know a whole lot more of the history and lore and lyrics than I do.

The crowd was pretty massive and the venue appeared to be at complete capacity. Very cramped, very hot but fun as hell. Mr Henderson did a wonderful job mixing the audience sound, especially considering it was a reasonably last-minute requirement.

Also, Married to Music is astonishingly tight and rhythmic-as-fuck! I remember really enjoying the CD material of them I heard while over at the Showbusiness Giants show in March. I am going to go out and buy some of their other discs.

Picked up a beauty copy of All Roads lead to Ausfahrt on vinyl. Its pure WHITE. I don't think I have ever seen white vinyl before.

Well, I'm a bit of a recluse and therefore ignorant of that pigment in LPs. - Sat, 2 Jun 2007 1:58pm

I'd LOOOVE to see NMN in Victoria. I see those guys up on the Drive once in a while and I get all shy and star struck.

And yeah, MtM didn't impress me at all early on, but they've come a long way. Good thing too, because there's a pretty solid list of bands that deserve to open for NMN and NEVER GET THE CHANCE because of these bands who seem to have that position all locked up. What are they, their kids?
The fact that the NMN camp could give a rat's ass pisses me off to this day.
Anyway, last couple times I've seen MtM I was kinda stoked. - Sat, 2 Jun 2007 4:13pm Edited: Sat, 2 Jun 2007 4:13pm

I always thought NMN brought along some of the best music in Canada whenever they tour. Married to Music have been one of my favorite Vancouver bands for a couple years now, and NMN also helped a lot of my other favorite bands get some attention, including Removal, Pigment Vehicle and Circle the Wagons. I'm definitely part of "the NMN camp", what do we give a rat's ass about? - Mon, 4 Jun 2007 2:19pm

The reason NoMeansNo are so good, they've been playing in a band for how many years now (late 70s is when they started, perhaps). So when you've been playing music for over 30 years, you'd be that good, ya know. :) - Fri, 8 Jun 2007 6:23pm Edited: Sat, 9 Jun 2007 1:16am

I thought they were awesome. I love it when old guys can jam like that. Only shitty part was my buddy who came with me had to be back for curfew by midnight (wife doesn't trust him). No wonder.........so I had to drive him back to the freakin WaterWheel. Either that or he might have gotten in shit and I may have had a large jealous old lady breathin down my neck. Oh well what I got to hear/see was great. I thank my other buddy with all the girl "friends" for turning me on to them. - Sat, 9 Jun 2007 3:18pm
