That Show was awesome..Would have been worth $70 bucks a ticket and a trip too Vancouver to see them ...

Great crowd there will be alot of gripes in this thread from concert goers but none will be about SD and the bands...

SD was amazing live the rhythm will be in hy head for weeks

Black Halos were great , I loved the Nelly Furtado joke..."What is she the Queen of Victoria, she should end up under a Tally-Ho".... - Wed, 18 Apr 2007 11:36pm

heard the liquor license got cut at the Social distortion show.
here's who you write to about that incase you want to say you're pissed:
Sergeant simpson of the victoria police

Cathie Jorgensen (liquor control/city hall)

Pretty lame to approve it then axe it hours before.
The promoter definately lost out, esp. if there was a sponsor. - Thu, 19 Apr 2007 3:34am

Had a great time... I really didn't like Social Distortion the last time i saw them but this time they played on my home turf... for the first time in... ahh 25 years and even back then they never got to play. It was fun and i had a blast danceing. I don't usually dance but found it hard to stand like the mass robot cool people all behind me. And Social Distortion have written some great songs, and they even played the "Burning Ring Of Fire" originally done by the Smiths.
Now what the hell is a guy like Mike Ness, who is supposed to be so cool bringing a band like "I Hate Kate" with him on tour? has he been hanging around the shopping malls too much? They are probably a great band for teenagers or the Warped tour but just not a compatible act to back up Social Distortin... just my opinion. Of coarse the Black Halos are just fine and fit very well although not enough nudity.

do you know when the Clash did thier first tour of Noth America in 1909 they had Bo Diddley back them up. Now that is cool! Two different slashes of cool music but Joe Strummer had a way to make uncompatible music compatible.

i personaly thought the black halos weren't really worthy...maybe it was just the voice the isnger was trying to use while talking to the audience... - Sun, 22 Apr 2007 7:57am

I missed Social D when they played a tiny pub in Saskatoon ten years ago, and kicked myself in the ass for that ever since. But last week's show made up for it. Surprisingly good sound - my first show in the Curling Club - it sounded great. The closed beer garden didn't bother me too much - more cash to spend on merch, which helps the bands more, anyway.

Can't pick highlights from Social D's set, as it was all amazing. Loved their old stuff, their new stuff, and the Chuck Berry cover rocked, too. Crowd was great - true, lots of jocks, but plenty of fine looking ladies, too. Lotsa kids, also nice to see.

Missed most of the Halos' set, but I've seen them plenty. I like 'em, but Billy needs to stop slashing himself with that spiked wristband.

The Souls are next. Good times...good times... - Mon, 23 Apr 2007 10:17am
