Golgotha were amazing despite a slight tuning problem between guitars(?), can't wait to hear them with some power wails.

Anonymous I didn't care for, but for fans of that stuff I'm sure they didn't dissapoint.

Unexpect were definitely the highlight of the night. Flawless band of extreme technicality.

I'm so upset I didn't make it, I even bought a ticket but still couldn't make it out.
I love those bands, please bring them back out here again! - Sat, 7 Apr 2007 6:57pm

We got Anonymus & Unexpect tonight and my opinion is exactly the opposite of Mr. Evil's. In a strong way.
I heard First Reign killed, and what I heard of Luciferian Conquest made me stoked about the metal fest they're playing soon. An EXCELLENT weekend all told! - Sun, 8 Apr 2007 3:07am

Unexpect were very impressive. Was also bored by Anonymus for the most part but they are really good at that shout it out style of thrash they do. Just not my thing so much. Unexpect were better a few years ago iN vancouver, more violin solo's maybe.. and better sound, less feedback from the PA during vocal parts. All in all a good show.. but I missed Golgotha. - Sun, 8 Apr 2007 12:32pm

I missed everyone but Unexpect, and by their name, they were an unexpectedly different and good. I heard the phrase carnival metal or carnie metal.. or something like that? hehe! Very impressive, no matter.

some one offered me a free tix, I had no cluye who any of the bands were, but I whent anyways, and I am glad I did, unexpect was a complete delight.
love to see them again some day.
12 string bass was rad, violin was great sounding, and even the keyboards worked for them so well. They must practice a lot, their sets were so tight and stage performance was awsome.
the earlier bands were tight, but I did not like them. - Tue, 10 Apr 2007 1:27am

You went to a bar to see a show? You have completely betrayed the all ages PC scene.
Golgotha were shredding as usual. Out of tune, as Jaron said. They have a fair amount of maturing ahead of them, but they are certainly good at what they do.
Anonymous had a great '80s thrash vibe that was a breath of fresh air. After a song and a half, I proceeded to the bar to drink. Talented guys, but not attention holding.
Unexpect were a sight to see. Very mind-fucking and lots of variety. Elements of System Of A Down (latter day style with early-years aggression), Evanescence (female vocals tend to do that), and Cradle Of Filth or any other nu-black metal band. Various other influences as well. Talented beyond all comprehension. All those bass strings and no solo disappointed me.
Unexpect is a band I could go see once every two years live for the spectacle. Couldn't listen to these guys anywhere but live. Too much for my ancient ears.
Fun show!

Thanks for all to showed up! Thanks for all the bands to have played. I enjoyed all these bands and I agree they are all very talented at what they do if you like them or not. It was a fun show for me, thank you to Logan's for having me do this.

Rock!

Unexpect have been one of my favorite bands as of late. It's too bad i live 10 hours away from Victoria, as I'd love to see them live someday. Anybody who's into that experimental theatrical circus metal should check out Unexpect's labelmates Sleepytime Gorilla Museum as well as Stolen Babies. - Thu, 12 Apr 2007 5:00pm

DESPITE THIS DESCRIPTION i ASSURE EVERY ONE THEY ACTUALLY WERE GOOD! Wow if I had heard some one describe them as a mix of all those horrible bands I would never have gone to see them... Glad I did however, i THINK ALL OF THOSE DESCRIPTIONS WERE AN INSULT TO THEM. - Tue, 17 Apr 2007 4:54pm

It's funny because I found this the most apt description of the group upon viewing their myspace, which made me stay so far away from this show I flew to Montreal and asked them why they would let such a retarded band represent them. - Wed, 18 Apr 2007 6:33am

I love Unexpect and hate all those bands. I'd say their influences are more like Mr. Bungle and Emperor. It's a bit of a lazy description but the SoaD/ Evanescence one is lazier. - Wed, 18 Apr 2007 6:18pm

Good point. All I know is that if I saw that description I would stay the hell away from the band. Let's just say they're an unclassifiable band (lazier) and that music fans should check them out. - Wed, 18 Apr 2007 10:08pm

Unexpect sound like a combination of Arcuturs, Mr. Bungle, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum and fucking Henry Cow or some other 70s Rock in Opposition band with occasional death metal flashes. Their albums are mind-boggling just to listen to, and I deeply regret not having been able to attend this. - Thu, 19 Apr 2007 1:22am

Note that I said they have elements of those "wonderful" bands. They are truly unclassifiable in terms of genre and similar artists.
Worth seeing at least once. - Thu, 19 Apr 2007 3:55pm
