Luciferian Conquest was by far my favorite band that night, can't wait to see them again. Stoked, cuz I like Barry a lot, and how strong a vocalist he's become. I find myself hoping to see a lot of more of his character revealed each time I see him perform. Really want to see & figure more out about this project soon.
Grotesquetory seem really popular, but I prefer grind when its more rhythmic with more shifts to different parts than they seem to do. But holy, that is a big, ballsy sound!

Apocalypta were really good, and the music nicely structured/arranged, but they kinda mowed through it instead of being as tight as it looked like they could be or putting a lot of feel into it. Then I found out their bass player was missing, so I guess it threw them off.
And I've said it before (but no one agrees?).. I think that there's an "island" sound or style, that a lot guitarists from there share. When I mentioned it again that night, John the Soundguy said that maybe the key is a common teacher who's passed some things around.

A.I. were far better than I thought they'd be, in fact, I kinda liked it. Ricky Snotrag seems like a good guy, and now I find out a decent player, but I've been so off the gross/violent/rude stuff these days, whether I'm sure its without malicious intent or not. I know its some peoples' version of punk attitude, so I'm not trying to dis anyone, but I'd probably have seen his bands a lot sooner had it not been for the repulsive names & shit talk. I don't see as many punk bands these days either. Maybe its a phase. Anyway, looking forward to a lot more music from them.

I stayed til the very end cuz LC were so good, but something hit at the start of their set & I was barely feeling well enough to focus. No booze cuz of the headache, but for some reason I went home & puked for the next hour.
the end. - Sat, 10 Feb 2007 7:33pm Edited: Sat, 10 Feb 2007 7:41pm
