SickFuk User Info... | Holy fuck..... I'm broken... I'd have to call that the show of the year so far... Right now, I can barely speak and my back is broken... I can't believe the self-inflicted damage that went on for this night... Missed Thine Eyes Bleed... Children of Bodom were brutal of course... showed up at the show about halfway through their set... Mastadon were pretty damned good too... not really my type of shit... they seem to like causing cardiopulminary response from their music... can't remember the name of it... but the last song fucking rocked.... Lamb of God.... holy fuck they kicked ass.... when they called for a circle pit most of the floor was involved and I was in the center of it... utterly fucking brutal... Slayer... need I say more, this is Slayer... they killed the crowd by sheer force... as always, I'm in awe of what they do... And I think I made it on the upcoming Unholy Alliance DVD they're putting out... they were filming for that the entire show... but right now... I'm too broken to babble any further... I just got home, grabbed a beer and went "Holy Fuck"... 'ere - Fri, 14 Jul 2006 11:55am Edited: Fri, 14 Jul 2006 11:56am
jeff User Info... | Well this is the first time seeing...all the bands on the bill I missed Thine Eyes Bleed - did they even play? COB was fucking insane, when they started i thought it was just music playing from a cd but it was them playing a song - They played my favorite song,(HATE ME), and i thought they were 2nd best show wise Next was Mastodon i didnt like them that much, not that they sucked they just werent my thing Lamb of God was next, now i wasnt expecting much because i have heard there studio albums before and i didnt like them BUT they fucking SLAYED eveything about them fucking kicked asshole FUCKING SLAYER, this was the first time i saw SLAYER, and they were good but the sound was kinda shitty, his vocals suffered the most they were tinny as hell and fucking echoy too but whatever I SAW SLAYER so who the fuck cares also they weren't loud enough in general BUT STILL GOOD This was my first stadium GIG and i dont thing ill ever go to one again....unless i'm on the floor but i dont know FUCKING SLAYER RULES SSSSSSSLLLLLLLLLLLAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRR!! - Fri, 14 Jul 2006 2:31pm
littledina User Info... | hey there my fucking neck hurts from banging my head to LAMB OF GOD AND SLAYER it was so WICKED YA thanks Jeff for taking your mom to this fucking KILLER SHOW! - Fri, 14 Jul 2006 5:07pm
Sati User Info... | Yeah, I was still feeling a bit off yesterday, but I think my neck is the better for it! Hope you guys get on that DVD! I was waiting for someone to get bonked in the head with that big camera arm. I can't believe what you're saying though.... MASTODON!!!! Was nonstop unbelievable. Its a pretty good cd and they played solid & intense start to finish. I was thrashing around like a maniac and the southern flavored guitars were just killer. My favorites of all the openers by far - made CoB seem totally wimpy and certainly blew away LoG. CoB and LoG are both good bands, but after (what 3 or 4 times seeing each?), they still don't do much for me... LoG's vocalist is kinda cool. That circle pit was huge though! At that point we'd snuck up high, side of the stage, where the sound was absolute shit, but we had an amazing view of the stage & could recognize a lot of the bodies being dragged out of the crowd. Later we could also see a bunch of little kids sitting on the floor right behind Lombardo's kit, drumming along! And my friend helped the girl in the teeny tiny striped skirt (you all saw her) crawl across so she could get backstage, ha! I assume she made it.. we moved so we could hear better. I've lost count of how many times I've seen Slayer, but that one went by like nothing - looked down at my phone when Tom said goodnight, and sure enough, 10:59pm, couldn't believe it, I thought we were like half way! Awesome crowd, no assholes that I saw, no annoying shrieky teenyboppers, and no puke in the washrooms (of course no lineups EVER in the girls' at Slayer shows). Great lights & graphics, they pulled out a lot of my favorites as usual and what about that inverted cross of amps! What a blast. Couldn't believe how many people hadn't seen Slayer before. Sorry I missed you Flee, missed tons of people I knew were there cuz of the seats/floor restrictions, BASTARDS!!! - Sat, 15 Jul 2006 12:12pm Edited: Sat, 15 Jul 2006 12:16pm
The Wolf User Info... | Put me down for the not liking MASTADON either... I was blown away by COB like a SYL type band... LOG was real good along with (Canada's Own) Thine eyes bleed... The Inverted crosses at the start gave me goose bumps COB stole the show for me... I would venture over to Van for just them... SKytrain was a hoot on the way back after the show... Just jammed it full a SLayer Fans... SLAAAAAAAAAAAAYERRRRRRRR came out of the train at each stop... Scared a lot of people lol...could not figure out what was happening... Imagine having train after train passing by cause it was jammed full...and each train full of drunker and drunker people... - Sat, 15 Jul 2006 3:58pm

And if you were at all in any way dissapointed with the show in van. just be glad your not part of the seattle scene! SickFuk User Info... | It's 3 days later and I'm still a cripple... but at least I almost have my voice back.... I'm still blown away by the whole fucking night filled with debauchery and misadventures throughout downtown Van... tried to go to the Cobalt but it was fucking closed before midnight... ended up in a whole bunch of different bars... And well Sati... guess yer just gonna have to wait til next time I'm in Van... which will hopefully be soon when I get to plan the Reinfection Tour... you've been warned... Enough ranting... I'll just rant more later 'ere - Sun, 16 Jul 2006 12:12pm
the grey army User Info... | Show was fucking sweet. second and best time seeing slayer. my ribs are still fucked. It feels like someone put my in a compactor or something. I guess thats essentially what did happen... All bands were on it. thine eyes bleed was a pleasantly brutal surprise having not heard them before that night. COB was interesting. not my thing really but hate me was rad. Mastadon was actually the reason that i bought this ticket (aside from the obvious). i thought they were fucking awesome but a lot of the tech low end stuff got real muddy in the mix which is too bad. missed most of LOG unfortunately so i wont say anything about that Slayer are the shit! they played pretty much everything i wanted to hear. crowd went off! I got as close to the stage as i could and then some fuck was screaming in my face that "he will die before I would get his spot", plus i watched him elbow some other dude in the face and it looked painful so thats where i ended my pursuit of the rail. Totally sweet getting on top of the crowd and looking back at hundreds of people with the horns up. bad part about that is they made me go out of the floor area and back in the other gate so missed the rest of the song but what ever. its worth it. All in all an awesome night and i cant wait till slayer comes back to town We did make it to the Cobalt for scaryoke which is some funny shit. was waiting to see if any of the slayer dudes would show up but it didnt happen. apparently Jeff H is partial to the balt... - Sun, 16 Jul 2006 1:18pm
Sati User Info... | I've been in all kinds of Slayer-trains & buses before, CRRAZY! I chatted with bunch of people about the show last night at EvilFest and apparently Thine Eyes Bleed is Tom Araya's brother's band? Said they were pretty good. And everyone was pretty choked about what they do to you once you're dumped outta the pit there.. pissed off people running hard around the whole building just to get back in.. now THATS brutal, I wonder if they all laugh. And yeah, I kept looking around saying, "isn't that beautiful?" at the writhing bodies, and thousands of horns up in the lights, with Kerry King looking down over them all. Those guys used to hang out at the Cobalt a lot for a while there, I remember being freaked out. My friend was talking about how when KK's wife was all sweet & supportive of shitty bands playing opening weeknight slots, him nodding politely but then busting out with "BUT WHERE IS THE SLAYER???" in his big deep growl, ha! (AdamsVigil, you about nailed it, nice!) - Sun, 16 Jul 2006 2:04pm
Legma User Info... | Wow talk about a fuckin heavy metal show! Everything about it was PURE FUCKING METAL Thine Eyes Bleed opened up with a pretty good set. I hadn't heard any of them before this show but they were everything youd expect to see from a band openening legends like these...very raw..short set and the sound was a little distorted...but good none the less Children of Bodom was up next. I have seen them twice before and they never less then perfect. How Alexi can be that good at guitar boggles my mind. Extremely tight and good chemistry. Throw in a guitar spin around the back and some body thrashing tunes and you got your self one hell of a good time. One of my favorite bands to see live thats for sure. set list (no paticular order) Intro song Silent Night, Bodom Night Living Dead Beat Six pounder Hate Me! Downfall Angels Don't Kill In Your Face Are You Dead Yet Up next was Mastadon. I havent heard much, mainly theyre more mainstream tunes. They were good tho, extremely heavy and had some really wierd time signatures, got you really listenin. They were good, still not my cup of tea but they put on a good show. "Keep smoking marijuana BC" Now was Lamb of God. Fuck. Quite possibly the loudest band i have yet to see. They had a wall of amps behind them plus the massiv p.a hangin from the ceiling. You could feel the drums in your bones and the bass in your face, very fuckin cool. set list (no paticular order) 11th hour Ruin As The Palace Burns The Faded Line Remorse is for the dead Red Neck (new song) What I've Become Now You've Got Something To Die For (plus about 4 or 5 more I that I cant think of the name) Now was the legendary Slayer. They had two massive upside down crosses made up of Marshall speakers. Fucking Loud!! What can you say about Slayer that isn't already said when you listen to their music. Heavy and brutal as shit. In the back they had a big screen playing videos and little snippets that went to the music. During Mandatory Suicide they had real suicide video's playing. Anyone know of the Russian Soldier video clip of the man getting his throat slit? That was playing only in the 'negative' colors of the shot. Very fucked up. set list (no paticular order) War Ensemble Angel of Death Mandatory Suicide Season's in the Abyss Blood Red Cult (new song) Necrophobiac (i think thats what its called? new song) South of Heaven Deciple Silent Scream Dead Skin Mask that's only half or 3 quarters or so. I knew most the songs just the names aren't clickin. Either way you knew you were at a fuckin SLAYER concert thats for damn sure. Overall very fuckin impressive. If you get a chance to see any of those bands I recommend it. - Mon, 17 Jul 2006 3:58pm Edited: Mon, 17 Jul 2006 4:00pm

vulpine User Info... | here's my review.... missed Thine Eyes Bleed Children of Bodom were super tight and i rank them #2 Mastodon was by far the most heavy....my fave #1 Lamb of God was LOUD kinda burned me out almost fell asleep during Slayer ...sorry but the other bands made them look pretty bad i'd see Mastodon again - Tue, 18 Jul 2006 12:19pm
SATAN User Info... | SLAYER WINGS YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE LOL - Tue, 18 Jul 2006 8:59pm
the jak User Info... | am i the only one who thought there could be less bands on the bill and slayer could have played a longer set that way?....also the vox during slayer did sound weird ...they opened with south of heaven and when he started singing you couldnt even hear him at all and it took half a song for the sound guy to figure it out.....now before you all start chiming in with your brilliant remarks....these arent complaints...just mere observations...all in all the show ruled. - Wed, 19 Jul 2006 9:59am
