The Security Staff gets a " GRADE A PLUS ", they were amazing for a rock show...Actually had one make a point of thanking me for helping crowd surfers get over the fence...Wow... No Attitude and friendly guys... Here's the Set list: - Fri, 23 Jun 2006 11:51pm

XY-SATAN User Info... | It was freaking great show and they had a bit of stage action going on . And the dueling kits was a site to behold ! At first I thought they were going to start playing bumpercars(kits) !! Now that would of been cool !! The sound ......shitty at the beginning and got a little clearer towards the end, but...SUB PAR... for anyone not standing directly in front .It's like they don't know how to optimize the sound be directing it properly . If they just turned the speakers more to the sides and then they could turn down the system and not get the booming . .... or I could just buy better seats next time ! :p Anyfreaking who , I missed the first band but by what people were telling me I didn't miss much( sorry) . And the beer fiasco was just plain insane , some of us didn't even get a beer after standing in line for 25 minutes ?! Lame ... well lame for them they put the rope right behind us ..YESSS!! God smack was awesome mang and they did a good job of pacing out their songs and building up for the last encore and the last was the best ! IMHO I think they where playing some of their new tunes and they fukin rock ! Honestly I may pick up the cd if it's as good as that . They looked like they were really enjoying themselves and props to the Victoria crowd for getting more and more into it as the night went on ! *golfclap And were singer the words right along with the singer and he stopped a pause to let the audience sing along quite a few times. We were all standing up screaming our heads off and doing the wobble pop dance . We were passing joint around and met some people down from Campbell river down for the show . Funny the people you met just passing a joint around and thanks for the snake bite bro’s ! Towards the end the crowd went crazy the band left the stage on a high note without people saying they didn't get their money worth . They gave it their all and when they bid ado . We all just sat and back and relished the experience.. very sweet ! Saw freaking everyone at the arena , and I mean everyone !! We all went back top Evos and it was the same, saw a lot of old faces and new ones . And then some late night botchery at the Jam spot . (Darryl???..357, call me !) PS- I scored Tool tickets ….floor 23 row !! Yeaaa!! - Sat, 24 Jun 2006 3:14pm
RockNRollRobbieBoyTheRockNRollRockStar User Info... | I was in the stands and thought the sound was good. Godsmack ain't my favorite band but I do enjoy them and yes the new album is a good one. Twenty odd years ago when Scorpions and Maiden played here I got backstage after. Walking with Klaus Meine out to their limo I asked him if they would come back. He told me yes. I'm still waiting Klaus. It would be cool if Godsmack did comeback to our "BadAss" little town and to bad for the closed minded souls who can't see that they're a damn good Rock N Roll band. - Sat, 24 Jun 2006 5:09pm Edited: Sat, 24 Jun 2006 5:10pm
_Griphin_ User Info... | Why is it that the biggest complaint about the new arena has to be the acoustics?!? - Sat, 24 Jun 2006 5:27pm
The Wolf User Info... | We're into Music and we go to lots of shows of course we are going to critique the Sound... Not gonna bitch about the Bassists shoes The Biggest complaint is that Flashing Jumbo Sign on street, and that thing taking a dump out front ...("That Piece Of Art") - Sat, 24 Jun 2006 9:23pm
mat User Info... | I didn't go, I wish I had though, but the TC gave the show a really crappy rating. said that they were upstaged by the opening band. It's good to hear that the media doesn't know what they are talking about. - Sun, 25 Jun 2006 5:50am
RockNRollRobbieBoyTheRockNRollRockStar User Info... | The reviewer in the TC needs to clean out their ears, open their eyes and actually attend the show to give a true review - a load of bullshit. Godsmack is right up there with all the best shows this town has ever seen. Robert Plant had the best sound but this was the best show at the SOFA so far. - Mon, 26 Jun 2006 3:20pm
The Wolf User Info... | It was Mike Devlin who reviewed the show and gave it 2.5 stars... He posts here, maybe you can ask him... I am not a Godsmack fanboy and own ZERO albums/DVDs but I enjoyed the show immensly...I usually like his reviews but that he said that HINDER outshone GODSMACK... That is insane... Hinder sucked and would have been blown away by The Black Halo's, Crystal Pistol, Zeke on those bands worst night... FROM THE OTHER THREAD Poor man's BUCKCHERRY Was a good shot at what they were like!.. - Mon, 26 Jun 2006 4:26pm
Yo Mama User Info... | Hey Folks...Mike Devlin from the TC here. My review said the HEADLINER was upstaged by a band 30 years its senior, which I went on to say was BLACK SABBATH, not Hinder. Black. Sabbath. Godsmack's cover of The Wizard was easily the highlight of the night, which is what I was alluding to, if you read it properly. No other song came close, which proved Godsmack has a long way to go if they are going to be considered more than a popular bar band. It was cool top them here, but beyond that I wasn't totally impressed. Way better hard rock shows come through town, arena or not. I have a serious soft spot for Godsmack's brand of rock n roll, but they were punching the clock here. Just my opinion of course. Sure, the sound at Motley Crue sucked balls but this was a kindergarten class compared to the energy of the Crue show. - Tue, 27 Jun 2006 9:50pm Edited: Tue, 27 Jun 2006 11:09pm
Jeremy Baker User Info... | I would give that show an average rating. Beer line thing was not cool. I never got me a beer and I needed it for this show. They did play all the hits and they did a good job of spacing them out as was said above. Drum battle was cool. I saw Godsmack once before and this show was m,uch better, but I got tired of Sully calling us "BCers" all the time... Highlight of the night for me was hitting Logan's for some cheap beer and mini burgers! WOW those mini burgers ARE GOOOOOOOOOD... see all those 'O's', that is how good they were. I ran into Sully on the ferry Saturday morning. He looked tired and wasn't into chit-chat but he was polite, posed for a picture with my buddy and thanked us for coming to the show. - Thu, 29 Jun 2006 6:12pm
_Griphin_ User Info... | Logan's have the best after parties, the one after The Pixies ROCKED my world!!! - Thu, 29 Jun 2006 6:55pm
Eh_Yot User Info... | Yo Mama, It would appear that I watched, drank, smoked, bullshitted,& finally fell asleep at the same show you were at YAWN....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz - Fri, 30 Jun 2006 5:38am
Crapper User Info... | I thought it was ok, but for the most part Sully Erna is a homo. And it was mulletsville everywhere I looked I saw people from Langferd. - Fri, 30 Jun 2006 11:25am
Crapper User Info... | That brings up a good question. What is up with Those Langferders anyway? - Fri, 30 Jun 2006 11:33am
Nik Olaz User Info... | I've lived there for two years now and I still can't figure them out. - Fri, 30 Jun 2006 5:52pm
Suffuckation User Info... | I can't believe so many people admit to listening to such mall-core childish shit. You should all be ashamed of yourselves. - Sun, 2 Jul 2006 4:36pm
