Tyler User Info... | who has pictures? who has videos? this was a freaking good time. if you like his indie folk stylings and aren't turned off by his unusual voice. I dug some of the opening act, I always like musicians who record loops and play further over them. bright eyes played mostly conor's new stuff which is cool I guess even though I'm more familiar with things from before "lifted". at least he played "lover I don't have to love" during one of the...5? encores. and ended with "an attempt to tip the scales" which is for sure one of my favourites, as well as a song from "fevers and mirrors" which happens to be my favourite album. lots of crowd interaction. "moooose". my only complaint I guess is that it really seemed like we were just another city along his tour, but that's because it's true. I guess once an act becomes big like that, the intimacy and everything sort of disappears. oh yeah and I guess I should expect some confused individuals to post some bright eyes insults. go for it, I guess. - Tue, 6 Jun 2006 2:38am Edited: Tue, 6 Jun 2006 2:38am
Peter Gardner User Info... | Yea it was a great show for sure. I had amazing seats which is always a bonus too. Poison Oak was just amazing. And I agree, Lover I dont have to love was great as well, and a nice surprise as I didn't expect it. Moooose - Tue, 6 Jun 2006 8:19am
wheate User Info... | Yeah Moose guy was pretty sad, drink some more jock. Equally annoying was the sucker who yelled out President Talks To God! Made me cringe, artists must just loathe people like him. Might as well of yelled Stairway. Only beef was the lack of EmmyLou's vocals, soooo missed. Awesome show though, thanks to whoever orchestrated this masterpiece. - Tue, 6 Jun 2006 9:27am
Bryan User Info... | The guy who yelled moose and the drunk, loud guy were different people, although I think the drunk loud guy carried the moose thing on further than it needed to be carried. - Tue, 6 Jun 2006 5:10pm
Peter Gardner User Info... | Yea that drunk guy was fucking annyoing. He was a meer two rows behind me. - Tue, 6 Jun 2006 10:18pm
brando User Info... | Motherfucker was testing my patience. I felt badly for Gruff, whose set was tarnished because of that piece of shit. - Tue, 6 Jun 2006 10:39pm
You Enjoy Myself User Info... | I'm not a huge Bright Eyes fan, but I really like his Digital Ash In A Digital Urn album, so I thought I'd check it out. He's a really brilliant songwriter, but the alt-country tone of the night wasn't really doing it for me. The few songs that he did play from the aforementioned album were the highlight of the night for me. His crowd interaction was pretty impressive, especially if you consider the retarded shit every 15 year old girl in that place was yelling out. My god, it turned into amateur hour in there. I missed most of the opener Gruff, but what I did hear I really liked. Too bad about El Douchebag Supremo, the drunk kid, I hope he went home and vomited all over his mother. - Wed, 7 Jun 2006 6:53pm
london drugged User Info... | MOOOOOOOOOSE!! i thought that was hillarious. i'm sure gruff expected somebody to yell something like that out though, i doubt he thought that there'd be a professional moose caller in the audience. bright eyes was great too, first time i've seen him live. i was surprised to see that he had a good sense of humour, and i think he became pretty comfortable with us as the show went on which was cool. wish he played 'landlocked blues' and 'road to joy' though! - Fri, 9 Jun 2006 10:22pm
salt User Info... | I can't believe he didn't play "June on the West Coast". I mean c'mon! We're here, it's June... Yeah, oK. It would have been a little out of place, and I did enjoy the songs he chose. He could have played anything and I would have been overjoyed. Leading up to the concert, I had my doubts about how I'd find it, given that it's been a few years since I was more heavily into Bright Eyes. However, I was completely fulfilled, nostalgically and presently. Sigh sigh sigh. Gruff Rhys was fun. The moose thing was fine seeing as no one was making actual animal noises, which was what I had hoped for. If Gruff had been annoyed by it, I don't think he would have repeatedly looped that sample. The performers all seemed relaxed. I thought the crowd was decently receptive (thank god, otherwise I would have been embarassed). Conor said they'd be back, and I hope he was telling the truth. - Tue, 13 Jun 2006 6:06pm
