people took a while to show up haha

anyway I think this was organized very well.

ghosts are one of my favourite bands ever and made my week or month or something.

away r'io I had more patience to listen to this time. I have called them a sleepy band before, maybe that's still true, but in a good way. I like what they do, it is the subtleties that I like.

run chico run, freaking awesome, I didn't know! I have been at run chico run shows like 3 times in the past I think, and have been always out getting food or a bus or something. anyway I like them a lot. I swear I saw those guys busking on the street once and I didn't make the connection before haha. I like them.

immaculate machine seemed kind of distracted and unhappy at first but ended up putting on a good returning performance that everyone liked.

thanks joey for keeping the music going in a direction it should go! awesome night. wooo. - Sun, 23 Apr 2006 2:39pm Edited: Sun, 23 Apr 2006 2:44pm

I'm pissed that I missed Ghosts, but Chico's new material is pretty sweet. - Sun, 23 Apr 2006 2:57pm Edited: Sun, 23 Apr 2006 2:58pm

Good show all around.

Ghosts - First time Seeing them. I enjoyed them, although I thought maybe a little too loud. I only knew "Through A Frosted Window" because of the AAARGH CD, and i don't know if it was because I knew it, but that was definitly my favourite the played.

Away, R'io! - Probably my favourite local band, (now that Black Tie Social is over and done, ha) and they did not fail to make me fall in love with them again. I wish their new CD would come out already.

Run Chico Run - Second time seeing these guys. And the whole drumming/keyboard playing at the same time still blows me away. That alone makes me like them, and then the fact they have good songs makes me like them even more.

Immaculate Machine - It's been too long since they have been home. I wish they'd come back more often, but I understand they've got to get out to different places than little old victoria. It was a great set and I hope they come back soon.

All in all, an awesome show. Thank you Joey! - Sun, 23 Apr 2006 4:04pm Edited: Sun, 23 Apr 2006 4:08pm

This was a really good show musically. I caught 3 very impressive acts.

It was my second time seeing Ghosts, and I really like them. Some of the songs started to sound very similar by the end of their set, but these guys put on a great show.

I missed Away R'io because my buddy and I stepped out to go get a quick drink. I thought there was gonna be a bar at this show, but I guess not. So we sacrificed their set to appease the mighty god of alcohol.

My third time seeing Run Chico Run, and they were as great as ever. They played a very fun, tight set and got everyone pumped for IM.

Immaculate Machine was their same ol' awesome selves. And what was up with the down-tempo "There's no such thing as the future"? That was a sweet new version of the song, and it was great to see that they're so comfortable with their material to totally switch it up. "Fire in the lobby" never fails to be spectacular, and last night was no exception. IM is definitely my favourite local band and I really wish they'd play more often here, but hey, I guess I can wait a few months until the next show. - Sun, 23 Apr 2006 4:24pm Edited: Sun, 23 Apr 2006 4:33pm

I thorougly enjoyed it. The sound was suprisimgly good considering my previous experience with that room. It always seems to get really washy from the close rear wall and the high ceilings. Nev with his powerful PA and keen ear pulled it off!

And the bands were great too! Love those guys.

I caught Ghosts' last song; it sounded great and the keys were nice to have back. Away Ri'o were spectacular; that lineup is really starting to gel nicely. The Chicos were great as usual; I saw them the night before, so that shows how dedicated a fan I am. Immaculate Machine were amazing; Nthe new arangements were fresh and exciting.

Too bad we got busted rolling in the back of the pickup truck after the afterparty. Sam charmed the lady cop with his wiles, though.... - Sun, 23 Apr 2006 9:27pm Edited: Sun, 23 Apr 2006 9:38pm

i'm going to be doing this as often as possible now.
the video bank I had on the hybridproductions.net website had about 50 vids at it's peak, and those were just shows I did. Now that I have a nice little digi SLR and my camcorder, I can do alot more. Too bad my web design abilities suck ass!!!

If and when you need server space for videos, I can throw em onto my site. I have tonnes of space and bandwidth. Once I have more videos, I'd like to link up with the sites for around town like VIHC, Bosevus, and other production companies. If and when that happens, I'll make the site prettier.

Thanks for the complements.

drumming/keys/singing! all at the same time, while playing like a bassline on the microkorg, a changing rhythm on the drums, and singing a melody. I could never do that. ever.

Matteus! start doing videos and pictures at VIHC shows, I am sure Brian would put a link to your stuff on his site, and nobody really regularily takes pictures ever since my camera broke. - Mon, 24 Apr 2006 6:36pm Edited: Mon, 24 Apr 2006 6:39pm
