| ML7Mike User Info... | What a great show! First up were Gross Misconduct who I hadnt seen in some time. They have definately improved in alot of ways with some ripping solo work added to the mix and the overall tightness was wicked! Awesome set by the hometown boys! Second up were Montreal's Unexpect. An ex Galy band now on The End, I really didnt know what to expect. HArd to decribe the style of this band but Im going to say an Eccentric Blackened Melodic Metal Mr Bungle with female vocals? Funny becuae after I thought that, Brent of Soulscar said the same thing ( MR Bungle ref. ) ouside the venue after the set. And a 9 string bass! Fucking crazy and the guy played it well. Two guitars, keys, insane violin work, and operatic female vocs with both guitarists filling in the death style. First time Ive seen a metal guitarist playing a Brian Moore guitar too. Definately a band of their own style, and quite.. unexpected. (sic) 3rd up were Montreal's Augury. Most who care saw them open for Quo Vadis last year at Sugar. They had some new songs to add to the set but were lacking their female backing vocals for a few key songs. However the singer of Unexpect did get up to do the back vocs for Cosmic Migration. Again, it slayed. Awesome bands all around, some great musicianship all around too. There was a donation box and some words said for Kelowna promoter Kristina of KillKrist Productions who last week lost her husband to cancer.
