Fun show. Quick notes about the bands

HRP - Uhh. Ok this was weird. They all looked about 5-6 years older than they did the time before when I saw them. Maybe it was the fake mustaches last time, as it was a halloween show and they were all wearing fake ones. But It was weird to see them for a second time, and have them all look completly different. Musically, I liked them a lot better this time too. I especially dug the Piano song, although the piano was a little low in the mix. But very good stuff.

Vincat - Great as Always. The Third Eye Blind was nice. I thought Kris was going to try and stand on HRP's tire, which would have been both disasterous and funny. And for the record, I'd like to see more Techno remixes. I think 'Apple-sauce' has great potential as a techno song.

Velecron - Not exactally my thing, but they did well at what they do. They were pretty funny as well. Kind of that awkward kind of funny. But it wasnt bad.

Maurice - Dear Maurice, please play more all agers. Dear self, go see them. It's been a long time since I saw More-rice, and I don't exactally know why. They rocked the house. A very good show. They even had their own little fan club, it was cute.

Eric Hogg - Playing acoustically in between sets I imagine would be hard. Between people leaving to go outside to get fresh air, to people banging and clanging behind you, I would think it would be kind of distracting and such. But I loved the sets. All the songs I really enjoyed, especially "Identity" and the one after 'Gabriel' which I dont remember the name of. And I must say "Seperation" was not only my favourite song he played, it was the highlight of the night for me. I've been listening to that song for five years now, and to finally hear it live, was awesome.

All in all, a very good show. Props to who ever put it on.

Oh, and Vincat and Eric, I have some pictures, they're not all that great (except one of Crystal which turned out really well) so I'll throw them online and post a link here in a bit. - Sun, 18 Dec 2005 10:04am

Peter - we actually just escaped a 6 year journey through time this weekend, that might explain our mature appearance.

Great show put on by Kate and people! Great sound by Nev!
I really liked most of the bands, but I wasn't too impressed by Velcron. To me they seemed like one of those crappy pop-punk bands who listen to Nofx (wait.....). I thought All the other bands were rad, especially Vincat and Maurice. Next time I think Eric should get a set of his own, but that is just me.
Had a great time! - Tue, 27 Dec 2005 6:19pm
