Vegas J User Info... | Checked out the All-ages show! Missed the openers but got "The Beats" AKA "Counting Heartbeats" and the Cynics. "Beats" were interesting...sort of prog-rock/eclectic stuff with some very captivating frontmen...good stuff, but hard to say if they have any commercial future..extremely "likeable" tho..and the kids were lining up for autographs! And The Cynics...which I personally think they should change their name to..well...I dunno...hard to criticize since I'm a fan, but they should be aware (as the crowd was) that "Bang" was far and away the best song in their repetoire. The singer is truely impressive and the rest of the band is powerful...but let's all get serious...if AC is to be the next "big thing" from the island they need at least 4 more "bang" quality singles. I know they can do it! Fuck! I SOOOOOOOOOOO wish I could hit the high notes like their singer can! ;-) - Mon, 21 Nov 2005 7:32pm
duncan User Info... | I would be choked that you wrote so much on the armchair cynics, three lines on counting heartbeats and didnt mention italian edition at all... but i know that counting heartbeats and italian edition are like gods with instruments. i hear theyre getting married, too - Tue, 22 Nov 2005 12:26am
Joshua Sparrow User Info... | Counting Heartbeats and Italian Edition are indeed getting married Duncan my man! It shall be a grand rocknroll wedding, a site to behold. Eveyone's invited! Especially you HRP! We had such a radical and gnarley time playing this show. =Italian Edition slayed! My first time catching them and they rocked far above all my huge expectations and all the wonderful things people are saying about them. Yes, we are in love. Check them out ASAP before we marry them and "pull a Yoko Ono". =We had so much fun creating our rocknroll ruckus! The crowd was amazing, so encouraging and oh-so-gorgeous. =Armchair Cynics were tight as nothin else! They put on a procore, radcore and gnarcore show. A big ole thanks to Matt for throwing the show and for keepin it real. And thanks to all who support us and dig our tunes. We love you with an undying love. - Tue, 22 Nov 2005 12:35am
Vegas J User Info... | true...but when we'd arrived the Italian Edition had come&gone and we caught only the last 5 tunes of the Beats, so...y'know. Anyways, I re-read my posting and it sounded a little different from what I meant...I'd better clarify...the Beats were great, I loved the songs I heard which were all really cool&musically varied . One VERY impressive thing about them is the Positive "love" vibe they put out there..onstage and offstage...real cool to see! The Cynics other material is strong too, but when 'Bang' came out it was SUCH a powerful, instantly likable song that it just shot the energy of the show through the roof, and any band who wants to rule the radio like they seem to be headed to do needs about 3 more strong singles to maintain that kind of momentum...and I DO think they're the next "big thing". Great show! Oh...I forgot...very good soundman! The mix was pretty much perfect! - Tue, 22 Nov 2005 1:47am
