this was a pretty good show!

vincat was vincat.. the vocals seemed different, more lo-fi and I really liked that. but things seemed like they hadn't picked up yet?? I dunno

the pickles.... really cool. I don't know how to describe them.. fun sassy punk? every song was a lot of fun, I liked the vocals a lot. this was the suprise of the night for me, I didn't know what to expect and I was very pleasantly suprised. lots of fun.

away r'io I kind of sat on a couch for. slow emotional indie, sounded pretty good but I always get put in a sleepy mood. not quite my thing but I can see why people would like them. I would like to see some dug-up rampant songs next time.. and a name change to "away mari'o".

ghosts were the highlight for me, and the reason I came. I bugged them for a shirt right when they came in, haha. and I've been listening to the newly released songs as well as the 7 inch for a while now. what is on the anthology? I didn't have enough money. anyway I LOVE their sound... emotional, hip, really passionate surfy guitar riffs and heartfelt vocals, synth backing, really well written songs... just so good. every moment brought a grin to my face of musical glee. better than I remember when I saw them last year with The Answer. this reaffirmed my belief that this is one of the top 5 bands in victoria, and probably #1 in that list. so good. I LOVED the songs, most weren't on the cd I acquired a while ago.. maybe they're on the anthology? so good. just so good. I love the guitar tone especially, it is delicious. I will go to every all ages ghosts show I can, and they need to have more.

I had to leave as chet were setting up because this show ran really behind schedual, and I need to use public transit.

I took a lot of pictures, mostly of ghosts (video clips too), but other bands as well. They shall appear on my site, http://xtylerx.tk when I get around to it eventually. - Mon, 14 Nov 2005 12:24am

And by "sat on a couch" do you perhaps mean "sleep on a couch while crazy people put paint on your face, just to have you goto the bathroom, and continue sleeping" :P

I thought vincat was kind of off, half the fun of their sets are well, entertaining sets :D just didn't really feel much energy at all until near the end, but I don't think they are to blame, there wasn't any fun lighting or anything aswel. still good as usual tho.

pickles I liked

away r'io... i really dislike really really slow mellow music live, i prefer to lsitent o that stuff alone in my bed or something, from what I could hear frmo the couch seemd pretty good tho, just not the best circumstances for me

Ghost, wow, you guys are amazing - Mon, 14 Nov 2005 12:35am

I missed Chet.

Everyother band sounded fantastic, and I'm not just saying that. Best time I've had at a show in a long time. - Mon, 14 Nov 2005 12:47am

hey.
crystal here, from vincat.
this show was odd. (by this show i mean our set because that is all i was there for)
after we played i just didn't feel like i usually do. i felt that it was dry and dull. i think i may have gave up a little, because the sound was screwing me up. the guitar sounded like poo and i couldnt here either vocals or keyboard. and when i can't here what we are playing it makes it hard to get into it. anyways, i am not trying to make excuses. i am just saying, i totally understand. it was just not the same spunky cat that usually rocks off socks. it was like a depressed sleepy cat on heroin or something. what happened?!?! vincat!...get out of thoes drugs. i told you not to get high before the show!...
thanks for coming out on a sunday... i hope the rest of the show rocked.
love crystal. - Mon, 14 Nov 2005 10:06pm

crystal im sure it was still awesome... but yeah we had problems the night before the sound on stage is such bunk... really takes away from the fun of playing. i hope i see a bouncing lively cat soon. - Mon, 14 Nov 2005 11:34pm
