| Brian VIHC User Info... | The show date is determined by when the bands are on tour. The US bands are playing Vancouver on the 16th and Portland on the 18th. The venue is also incredibly expensive on weekends, and if it weren't for the low rates for Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, this show wouldn't have been happening at all. | Brian VIHC User Info... | The show went really well, with the minor exceptions of dealing with a few rowdies at the door and the vomit in the girls' washroom (this seems to be a trend when I put on shows downtown), oh and the girl passing out and then leaving right before the paramedics showed up. Surprisingly without incident considering the police showed up to do a cordial walkthrough and the ambulance coming around for that dozey girl. ha ha I paid both out of town bands well and even the locals got paid something. I'd really like this venue to continue to be viable for weekday shows (it's fairly inexpensive for Monday-Wednesday). Also left behind and not claimed by the out of town bands were a power cord for an amp, a mic stand, and the round seat for a drummer's stool. - Tue, 18 Oct 2005 11:31am | ||
| Eazy A User Info... | Thanks Brian for putting us on this bill. Good mix of bands and we had a great time despite almost breaking a nail with my lone drunk heckler. Thats alot of booze in a little teenage body to stand angry in front of a combined 500lbs Eazy - Paulverizer Samich. haha. | Brian VIHC User Info... | So I talked to the venue director/owner guy, he said everything was cool, so luckily there was no actual damage to the venue. Unfortunately though unless someone wants to only do a Monday show, all the other days of the week are booked by Atomic Vaudeville and Salsa Dancing. Oddly enough it turns out I'm one of the few people who's ever done a succesful (ie breaking even) music show there. Woohoo for scene unity! PS. No one has claimed any of the stuff left behind! Definately not my highlights of the night, and definately a reason why I only stayed for Friday Night Murder and AWT. Both bands have up-ed their game since the last time I saw them and it was definately a fun way of spending my monday night. | Tyler User Info... |  Lose None and In The Crosshairs were great! The pit was fun! Good memories. Like Hunter said, one of the guys had his own large distro of LPs and 7s, I picked up a couple. Cool stuff. The venue is so awesome. It sucks that it's only available on Mondays. Well, we could show up to the salsa dancing and dance salsa against the invisible ninjas. Seriously though, a huge venue with good sound, a stage, couches, a bar, a smoking patio, a coat check, nice washrooms... what more could you ask for? I will be doing a review for the zine REK, largely because the last time a hardcore show was reviewed it was from the perspective of someone who is not used to attending hardcore shows; I want to set things straight. Where the fuck did clowney-mcclownpants and the rest of the lost boys come from anyways? i havent even seen them infront of chapters yet. I hate that people like that make punks look like idiots. While I do understand that it is fairly easy for punks and hardcore kids to not necessarily see eye to eye on everything you gotta know that guy aint a punk in anyones books.
