Rollerballs User Info... | Holycrap this sounds like a good show! It's pretty fucking rare we get quality black metal in this town. I couldn't believe it when INQUISITION came to town and now i can't believe WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM will be blessing us with their dark magical hymns! Fuck this is going to be decent! I was planning on going rollerblading then hitting up Johnny Zee's for a little DDR (dance dance revolution) but i think i can skip my usual thursday night routine for a night of gloomy spell casting. Anyone that's somebody will be at this show forsure. I hope i am kvlt enough to get in! - Tue, 27 Sep 2005 12:17pm

Mordock.the.Benzite User Info... | I am so fucking stoked.....since the Wolves in the Throne Room demo found it's way into the house I've been rocking it hard and hoping for the chance to see them (before they break up ...like another great Olympia BM band by the name of Threnos did after releasing just a demo). But now I guess I get to play a show with them as well...awesome! Looking forward to seeing Citadel as well. - Fri, 30 Sep 2005 8:14pm
hesher User Info... | I saw Threnos live. They were pretty bad ass. I was all drunk and i got shot some pretty strange looks when I cheered between songs. I guess cheering isnt grim and frostbitten enough. Wolves In The Throne Room are playing in Vancouver the next night. At the Astoria with Cambodia, MassGrave The Rita and Acting Ensign.. - Sat, 1 Oct 2005 10:43am

Brian VIHC User Info... | Why would anyone spinkick at a metal show? Circle pitting rules... - Tue, 4 Oct 2005 10:18am
canon.docre User Info... | Besides, when was there a 'serious' fight-dancing backlash? That's some funny shit to watch. Anyone dancing, to any music, is fucking funny. - Tue, 4 Oct 2005 10:51am
canon.docre User Info... | Plus, fuck gray metal. Its like a pre-announcement of how much of a poseur you are: "I play blackmetal sounding music .. but I'm not blackmetal." I know you're trying to 'set yourself apart' from the 'blackmetal scene' because its 'not for PC fucks.' If you're going to play blackmetal you might as well not be a whiny, artsy loser about it and try and say you're doing something "different". - Tue, 4 Oct 2005 10:55am
hesher User Info... | "Hey can you ask Goat if i can use his mesa on the 7th?" The answer is yes. Just bring guitars and cymbals the rest is taken care of. Ya black metal and politics don't mix Scott. i'm gonna kick yer ass. Canada Rules. Not. - Tue, 4 Oct 2005 11:05am
hesher User Info... | "Why would anyone spinkick at a metal show?" Why would anyone spinkick at any show period? Oh ya, cause they are fuckin Posers!!!!!! - Tue, 4 Oct 2005 11:55am
Stygian User Info... | "Those anti-Christians who claim they are fighting some (nonexistent) war are the true victims. They have fallen into the trap of giving manmade things like Jehovah too much credit. They claim to hate and be waging war on something that doesn't even exist. They are confused. Those who must always be waging war on something are the ones who are already defeated. The more they attack Christianity, the more they validate it. Religion is manmade and I will not waste my life arguing another man's religious fantasies. Satanism is childsplay, and life is solidarity away from the sheep, Christian sheep and Satanic sheep alike." - VC I'd rather be called a whiny artsy loser than black metal warrior (baaaaaaaa, scene whore, baaaaaaaa) any day. P.S. canon.docker (see pic above) has white pride ties and doesn't see a problem with NSBM. And bsx, you bring the pom pom's and i'll bring "it". - Tue, 4 Oct 2005 1:51pm
canon.docre User Info... | What's the difference between servicing your own geek popculture fetishism and my pandering to my own brvtal satanic sceneness? The difference is I don't have to talk about it being a joke every second sentence in case someone is listening in and taking me seriously. I can actually derive musical inspiration from both subjects' EQUALLY BARREN ARTISTIC MERIT. Who are you to say that the fiction these new bands are carrying on is more worthy than pure fantasy (with religion often mirroring christianity and other older pagan religions, anyways) ? You should realise, as I've tried to explain to you on numerous occasions, when a band sings about the glory of satan and whatever else they're being a lot less literal than you're giving it credit for. I'm suprised you've completely ignored these bands tendency to blatantly seperate reality from the fiction in their lyrics, and yet condemn bands for good-naturedly not shitting on their musical predecessors and the history of the music blackmetal, and by splitting hairs on the meaning of their lyrics. I know for a fact many bands you listen to and enjoy have lyrics that are way beyond even worthy of scrutiny besides their aesthetic value. I should add your above post does not even begin to address the satanism that blackmetal bands generally are portraying. Laveyan satanism, which you seem to think is what most blackmetal bands are trying to get at, has only served to confuse you. Anti-christian and satanism are not the same thing. Like singing about demons rising from hell is the same as going to church; you call true blackmetal bands sheep? - Tue, 4 Oct 2005 4:21pm
Stygian User Info... | Don't have the time to get into it but, i hate everything that confuses me, so i basicly hate everything. Yes i like some black metal, do i want to be in a black metal band? No. Literal or not, i still don't like the imagery, sure it's funny but it still boils down to personal taste. There is nothing wrong with coming up with new sillier sub-genres, way to be all serious and shit. Ungoliant does not want to be associated with ANY (by the way i had no idea there was more than one, thanks for the heads up) type of satanism, deal with it. We all do things characteristic of sheep, some more than others. - Tue, 4 Oct 2005 8:01pm

Stygian User Info... | I recently interviewed BurywhatsDead (coming out in next month's metal underground) over brunch at the Empress, they said they are not sure they want to release anything, something about being too underground or something (i think 1337 was the term they used), then they went on to say this town doesn't even deserve them and they might not even show up on thursday unless they get free micro-brewed beer. Which frankly, doesn't surprise me at all, you know, i'm really starting to hate those fuckers. - Wed, 5 Oct 2005 12:05pm
brad User Info... | um guys....there IS beer on thursday...isn't there? guys? - Wed, 5 Oct 2005 8:48pm
