i guess...
yeah, i guess they were pretty awesome and adorably "positive", in their own meathead kind of way. i didn't think converge were that great though. i had heard that they were incredible live, and so was kind of disappointed. i thought their new songs were the best live. they just didn't seem that tight and the guitarist wasn't either very loud or not just very -on- that day. and the bassist was just plain annoying. (i think i had way too high hopes for that band.)

it was also weird having it so bright in there.

one more complaint- did anyone notice that irritating jock guy in the blue shirt looking for a fight and floorpunching for converge? gaa.

oh, and i missed all of mare's set except for part of the last song, but wished i hadn't, because it sounded pretty interesting. and cursed were good, but not really that memorable.

all in all, pretty fun, but i wouldn't pay $20 again to see it. - Mon, 26 Sep 2005 1:09am

We saw the show in Van and then went to Banff for the show on Monday night - I gotta say........ IT KICKED ASS!!
Much better venue and not as many people so you could really get right up in it. And then to top it all off.... Tuesday morning when it's time to leave, it's SNOWING!!
Did I mention that this show kicked ass?? Got some wicked pictures too. - Wed, 28 Sep 2005 5:18pm

Actually, I only wrote "Terror!" cuz I was busy. I did get sucked in at times by the "terrorvangelist" but damnit, sometimes you just need to hear it. If what he was spouting really is what hardcore stands for, maybe thats where some of us should check in again. Fuck the jaded!
I wish I was as taken by the music though.

I liked Converge (musically) better, but yeah, they seemed off their game. It seemed more due to the members being annoyed with each other though. Their show seemed to articulate the needless crap that gets in the way of important stuff - exactly what Terror were referring to.

A few friends were blown away by Mare and want to see them back. I met a couple of them.. seemed like interesting people.. wish I'd seen 'em.
Had a ton of fun at that show though.. lots of long lost people.. tons of stoked kids around.. hung out with some good friends. And I like the way mesa luna only lets a few people up top at a time now so everyone who wants to can get a decent view of the stage.

Btw, only LOSERS miss opening bands!!! urgh - Fri, 30 Sep 2005 6:53pm
