| FACT | There are some overconfident musicians that use this board that think their shit dont stink. They are probably in bands that have only been together about a year, and have gotten complimented by their friends. They think they are alot better then they really are, but the reality is coming. Everyone who's NEW band gets complimented has to face these feelings of self greatness. Sooner or later they will realize that they arent the second coming of Slayer, the third coming of Green Day or the new Nickleback. I know musicians like this post here, becasue I have figured out alot of the alias's. SOme of them never even mention their own bands here, and neither do anyone else, so they are starting to feel inferior. These are probably the same geeks that bump threads about their own bands back out of obliveon once in a while. Oversoul, dont worry about it. | considerthis | One thing people may fail to realize is that even though certain musicians within certain bands are not the most supreme techinically powerful intrumentalists with a surreal knowledge of every aspect of music, they may just be associated with music for the purpose of using it as an outlet of emotion, whether it be happiness, pain, regret, hatred, love, whatever. Some people don't make music in order to be cool or to follow a trend or fit in a particular genre, they simply make music, whether it is considered bad or good or technical or not to help themselves make it through what ever it is they are trying to make it through. If it wasn't for mediums such as music or any other form of art for that matter, how would any one express who they trully are? We need to adopt a collective awareness of the idea that people are different and they are going to express themselves in a way that may not be agreeable to some and then again it may be. What I'm trying to say is that we should focus more on the expressive side of music and art not the technical superficial aspects, as true art is from within. - Thu, 16 Jan 2003 5:28pm | ||

(Which I happend to be nice enough to stick around for while everyone else filed out the door) That doesn't mean I sit around all day making fun of people, it wasn't a personal attack.
