Jeff | I came out Saturday to check out the Soundgarden venue and caught all 3 bands Oversoul, Threat of the End and Chronic Session. Oversoul was interesting but the vocals were a bit annoying after awhile. Too similar every song; would be a good idea for them to change it up a bit. Threat of the End had a diverse style which was great to see but they need to practice more and the percussion and guitars need to listen to each other better. Nice to see a female up there singing heavy and melodic like that. She definitely makes the band and has an amazing voice. Chronic Session was tight wtih seasoned musicians but a little mellow compared to the energy of the other two bands. Nice way to end the night off though. TOTE had the best turnout. I'd like to see them again after they get more experience. Lots of potential. Soundgarden is a great place for bands to play and from what I've seen of Victoria, the best sound by far. - Mon, 13 Jan 2003 12:26pm

Mike | Cool to see a chick singing in Threat of the End. She kicked ass! - Tue, 14 Jan 2003 3:54pm
Anonymous | I'll agree that it's cool to see a chick singing, but there was no ass kicking going on there. She's not really all that good. Just think of what she'd sound like without the band to cover her. - Tue, 14 Jan 2003 5:19pm
Mike | I think if anything she needs to find a better band. Didn't you hear how off they are? In my opinion her voice covers up all the mistakes the band is making. Drummer needs to find his meter and guitarist needs to listen to everyone else instead of playing on his own beat. - Tue, 14 Jan 2003 5:48pm
Anonymous | She was singing with laryngitis, I'd say that was pretty damn good for being sick. - Tue, 14 Jan 2003 6:03pm
helonwheels User Info... | She was totally sick and then she did it again the next day for the all ager! That screams rock star to me!! Rock on. - Tue, 14 Jan 2003 6:15pm

RSBF User Info... | thank you to those of you who said nice stuff re: me! BUT thank you also to those of you who say otherwise....... i agree with you. a singer should always continue to work on their vocals and i have a long way to go! an excellent book that i have (i still need to finish reading it and actually follow through with the exercises and lifestyle recommendations) is "The Rock-N-Roll Singer's Survival Manual" by Mark Baxter. The book covers everything from exercises, instructions, nutrition, drugs (yep!), scientific stuff, and more. i highly recommend this book! - Tue, 14 Jan 2003 7:21pm

Anonymous | I have to say knowing that she was ill I'm stoked to see her sing when she's 100%, + 2 shows in a row in that condition, very commendable. Her attitude about practice and working on her voice is great too BUT, she needs a better band, definitely needs a better band. OS and Chronic were alright too I was just happy to see a harder sounding female musician in this town. - Wed, 15 Jan 2003 12:27pm
Anonymous | you guys are a bunch of assholes. For every 50 musicians only 1 is truly amazing and the rest find solace in being music critics- the next best thing. Everyone on this board has "helpful hints" and condescending comments but where is the fucking qualification? show what you can do before you start being an Adrian Chamberlan. - Thu, 16 Jan 2003 12:46am
Anonymous | it's a show review and a personal opinion dickhead, don't read them if you might not like what they say. - Thu, 16 Jan 2003 3:16am
Anonymous | Who's Adrian Chamberlan? I'm just a person who paid to go to a show and has an opinion on what I saw. You don't like it so you call me an asshole? Excuse me if I don't take you seriously. - Thu, 16 Jan 2003 3:21am
