Nice to see the Victoria Contingent over here !

The show was WELL ORGANIZED ... with SET TIMES posted all over and the coolest ever Drum Risers on wheels...Could just roll the kit out and changeover, no cruddy 40 minute waits...5-10 max between bands... Most bands played 25 Minute sets...

A Couple of bands sucked but most were pretty awesome

My Faves
STRAPPING YOUNG LAD Bassist from Devil Driver filled in for Byron Scott....Devin said he was shooting a Gay Porno ooops that was last week, He's filling in on the Enuff Z Enuff tour :s
DEVIL DRIVER Awesome just a ripping sound...I am getting the album next pay day
OPETH What can I say...just great , even better announcing "Damnation" as a little bit different album than the others...LOL...Major different I used to think that one sucked now seeing it live I have a new respect for it.Played some new stuff from the NEW ALBUM AUGUST 31st

TERROR an awesome band...just great..goes for the Jugular

GWAR I am still dyed Green Red Pink ...lol...Need ski goggles to repel the "Blood"

LAMERS

Norma Jean-Worst name ever and a emo band to boot :S

CLUTCH- Like a hard rock Hootie and the Blowfish/Dave Matthews Band....Had an inkling when someone we were shooting the shit with said "Look at the people wearing CLUTCH shirts....The Band sucks if thats there fans!" LOL - Tue, 26 Jul 2005 9:11pm

FUCK YEAH!!!!!! Gwar fucking rule!!! Sounds was pretty awesome too bad there were so many fucking "hardcore" bands there. Hardcore is boring repetitive screamo, and any dumbass that can hold the same power chord for 2 minuites can play it. Opeth got to play with Gene Hogln again which is pretty cool, but Where is their drummer? Strapping sherds again!!! LOG sounded extremly off tempo to begin with but it's Lamb of God and they always kick=ass! Chimaria was suprisingly impresive. thats what I thought.

agreed, clutch sucked the big one, good at what they do, but had no place in sounds. I'd definatly say Gwar and Strapping put on the best shows. Chiamera and LOG were close behind, fucking incredible drummer in Chiamera. As whatshisname put it, it was a rediculously organized show, well done people who planned it. I liked the timed signings the bands did, although i missed Gwar's i made it for LOG's, cool guys. All in all, that was fucking necro show and it was one HELL of a hotbox in there for the size of the place. I would have to be killed to not come back next year, hopefully my Gwar-stained skin will last that long. Fuckin awesome job to all the bands, they evidently gave it their all. - Thu, 28 Jul 2005 9:45am

As far as the HxC, Madball and Terror kicked some major ass! I got to meet and talk to both bands after their sets and they came across as real sincere, dedicated dudes. I agree with the rest that thought alot of the metal bands sounded the same. Lamb of God and Chimaira I thought were pretty quality and of course GWAR didn't disappoint either. The whole OPETH fascination everyone has I totally don't get. Boring! Zzzzzzzzz. All in all it was too long of a day trapped in the PNE Forum. In/Out privelages would've been nice. - Thu, 28 Jul 2005 12:57pm

Tambo, Throwdown got really bad. biggest dissappointment of the night. I still cnn't believe I saw Madball, it was unbelievable. Terror were intense. Gwar was hilarious. Their live performance was so entertaining, i completely forgot they were playing music for most of it. Opeth's 40 minute set was totally uncalled for. Barrier's suck. $6 veggie burgers suck. No ins/outs sucks. $30 tshirts suck. It was an okay show though. - Thu, 28 Jul 2005 3:33pm

I still would've liked to see Throwdown, just because it's Throwdown. Terror would be swee too, but I'm going to (hopefully) be seeing them in September with Converge - Thu, 28 Jul 2005 4:02pm

i couldn't agree more. don't get me wrong, i've been into a fair share of hardcore bands, but things are really getting out of hand here! i was pretty bored for most of the bands, good thing i didnt catch the first few im sure! Strapping sounded great, townsend's awesome, gene ripps.
GWAR's set was too short for my liking! grrrrr. Nothin compared to Sugar..

-I FUCKIN HEAR YA! Well said bro.

Overall, I've never had to wait through so much BS to see LoG; and the strobes (esp. from Chimaira) nearly gave me a fuckin anyeurism (sp?) and i left the show CRAVING some hard-ass death metal!
