Friday, July 15th at The Brickyard 315 Carrall Street tickets $15 at the door doors at 7, show at 9 This will be one hellacious hoe-down with Vancouver's own internationally renown Big John Bates and his Voo Doo Dolls supported by Toronto's notorious sons of Satan hiss self The Matadors, local stalwarts The Deadcats (if you haven't heard of these guys, you must be living under a rock!), and kicking things off legends in the making-Raised By Wolves. | Pooetry User Info... | This was quite an awesome show. Big John Bates was as awesome as ever. The Matadors were like nothing I'd seen before - super awesome - unfortunately their set - which includes a stage show - got cut short due to time constraints. Deadcats - good, good. | Sati User Info... | I didn't go cuz I was at a metal show that night. I meant to head out early to check the cars, but I messed up. I heard there were only like 3 out front.. but really, what were people expecting outside the Brickyard? My friend Johnny said that he missed the first band too - and that that was only the 2nd time EVER that he's missed an opening band! Thats a pretty killer record - a lot of local bands owe him a drink! Raised by Wolves will play again soon, I'm sure. Its been eons since I've seen the Deadcats - good to hear they can still get it up, haha, thats an inside joke. I'm the only one who'll actually get that one.. nothing new. And no, I don't know any of them _that way_. Also heard it was packed to the rafters and that Ani Kyd was sportin' a wicked dress! | Pooetry User Info... |  I didn't wind up going to the Marine Club. Did you? I went to Abbotsford and saw the Matadors, the Deadcats, and the Stag Reels. Fairly small turn out, but the Matadors were awesome once again. Then the place turned into some crazy fat Electric Circus night club once the bands stopped.
