Sati User Info... | Ok, ONE of Ms Jones' guest dancers looked as if his intentions were not strictly about dancing... she liked the glasses, eh? (These multiple threads are a bitch. I wrote the next post to the Victoria Sharon Jones thread, but decided to move it over to this one cuz I attended the vancouver show. ugh) - Mon, 4 Jul 2005 7:53am
Sati User Info... | Yeah, she was awesome. Makes me feel great that there are old school women out there to take us through and show us how its done. Her demo'ing the dance moves was killer.. and no one can say that woman can't bang her head - I was worried she'd hurt herself! HOw old is she? Funny and charming and SUCH a pro. I read somewhere someone saying how their eyes were glued to her. Most definately, and it was worth it and well earned. But she kinda wouldn't pause at all either. That bass player was wicked, and so were others in her band - it would have been nice to hear a little space left for them to do their thing. Even during their odd "solo" she added her little "uh" here and there, which was entertaining and added that extra bit of "mmmmmph" to it, but it kinda mowed over their work too. Sorry to bring it down like that.. just my 2 cents and I don't mean to complain. I danced my ass off, had a smile on my face through all of it and she was inspiring! But an attention hound for sure! But I guess thats exactly what makes her inspiring - she's got the energy/moves/lessons and she's unafraid to flaunt her stuff and take that spotlight! - Mon, 4 Jul 2005 8:17am
