Sati User Info... | Not sure why there isn't more hype on this show.. but there ya go. I'm not surprised, for some reason. Its their 25th anniversary show! I want to see Rob kick some annoying surfer in the head and Laurie come out to finish him off. Anyone see that Commodore show? Laurie never did finish him off, but it looked like he wanted to. - Wed, 11 May 2005 2:34pm
Sati User Info... | Someone on the cobalt board pointed out that there's never any hype on their shows, cuz there never needs to be. good point. I'm mostly writing this cuz I wanted to say that I thought the Feminists were awesome. They're pop-rock but some of the best I've heard around here in a long while.. of course, I have to get out to see more of this kind of thing cuz its possible that the whole genre's raising the bar higher and higher in town or something and I'm just missing it all! Anyway, great songs, tight band, (keyboards were awesome!), and a lot more emotive than I was expecting. Removal got the crowd pretty stoked as they always do with their long jams. Great use of visuals - words projected behind them that made ya think. NMN. Well jeez, its like they really ARE gonna be the same in another 25 yrs. Damn well EXHAUSTED the crowd as usual. Growing old doesn't seem all too bad when we've got guys like that to show us how its done. There's a great tribute to NMN in Rek Mag. Definately worth checking out since its really thorough and takes you through their entire career, and obviously written by someone who cares a lot. I like that its all been so low key besides that. NMN, 25 yrs.. no big deal.. nevermind. Apologies to everyone who had to listen to me honk (cough) all night long. And thanks to the bar for letting me stand where I wasn't supposed to be allowed to stand - best seat in the house - YAY ME! - Sun, 15 May 2005 11:32am
Haden User Info... | I love Removal...if I'm thinking of the right band. Back at the three inches of blood show at lucky. I really really wanted to go to this show but found out about it the night of, and of course of good reason it was sold out. I cried myself to sleep that night. - Mon, 16 May 2005 10:39am
Sati User Info... | Anyone who posts to our sites a lot is always welcome to check with me in situations like that to see if there's anything I can do. That goes for people out in Vic coming over for shows too.. just try to give me as much advance notice as possible. Its always hit & miss though. - Mon, 16 May 2005 10:49am
Haden User Info... | I'll for sure keep that in mind if I run into a similar situation. Thanks Sati! - Tue, 17 May 2005 12:39am
