i got to see half of money shot and a little bit of the next band till i had to drag my drunken friend home, she was being quite rude about the bands. I personally liked them and wanted to see the rest, what i did see kicked ass. - Fri, 22 Apr 2005 11:42pm

Man what an amazing show. moneyshot totally impressed me. tight band, sweet vocals, energetic bass player, it was all there.

One shot left was ridiculously tight, I thought the vocals were great and really added to the overall sweetness.

Counting Heartbeats were FUCKING AMAZING!!! what an intense show. the stage fucking vibrated! their singer was so incredibly good, you could see he was into it. great guy as well.

Pushing up daisies were also incredibly good. tons of stage presence, very powerful vocals, tight band, amazing set. i was choked not having enough cash to buy a copy of their cd. what an awesome show.

Totally worth the 6 bucks and 4 hours of my life.

that first band played like shit. - Fri, 22 Apr 2005 11:43pm

Awesome show except that it was our worst in the playing department(eight bit dream).
Money Shot was super tight and awesome, sweet vocal harmonies.

One Shot left was also super sweet and tight with great vocals.

Counting Heartbeats was undenyably one of best bands I have ever seen!!!!!!!!!

Pushing up Daisies was also amazing, so so good!!!!!!!!!!!!

That was a bad expierience which we haven't had before and we'll definately hammer out the problems and put on a much better show next time. - Sat, 23 Apr 2005 8:40am

Alright, here we go. Let me start by saying that the big fernwood was packed. That was some good promotion. Even for big bands I haven't seen that venue filled that full in a while.
I can't say much for the first band, I missed almost all their set, and what I did hear was loud.

Moneyshot: Moneyshot were tight, and they played fun, punk anthemic tunes. I finally got on board the moneyboat and heard them. I dunno, it wasn't anything I'd go out of my way to see, but they weren't crappy and out of practise. They were tight, and fun.

One Shot Left: Again. Undeniably tight. A little, uncreative at times, what I mean is that after the first song I didn't hear it go anywhere else. But I know nothing about that kind of music. So I'm not going to get to into a field that could just be my own personal opinion. This band had their shit together.

Counting Heartbeats: The black tie spinoff which I've been hearing so much about, I finally got to see. I liked this band. The first song did it for me, where everyone was freaking out. I was more into the post whatever freakouts then the chiller stuff. But deffinitely cool. Alot of interesting stuff was going on.

Pushing Up Daisies: I think this was their best show I've been too. They were tight. There were tons of people groovin to their melodies. They certainly kicked ass. And the epic counting heartbeats/pushing up daisies colab. explosion was the highlight of the night for sure. good job to jack and the gang.

well there you have it. It was a fun show. All the different generations blended together in a sweaty gym, like a ymc drop in basketball game. But with less hitting and more basketball. - Sat, 23 Apr 2005 10:55am

eight bit dream - probably the worst set I've seen Eight Bit Dream play. the first song was pretty good though.

Moneyshot - They really got me goin', or atleast started me up. They had so much energy, and I did love the in-song banter.

one shot left - I don't know what it was about these guys, but I just went bananas during their set. everything about them clicked with me. I really like them.

Counting Heartbeats - I've only seen them a few times before, but I really really like this band. They played really well, but I think I would have enjoyed them more at a different sort of show.

THE ;) Pushing up Daisies - probably my favourite set of theirs to date, though I only ran in and danced for two songs. good luck in the near future with tha cd boys. - Sat, 23 Apr 2005 11:06am

We stayed for ten or fifteen minutes. There didn't seem to be much movement in the crowd and it isn't really a moshing show so we left pretty quick. Glad to hear it was a success though, it just wasn't our type of music. - Sat, 23 Apr 2005 11:18am

That was a pretty good show. Good job Scott and Matt... bands bands bands

8 bit dream - Um... Hardcore Screamo... not quite kincaide yet boys keep it up though.

Moneyshot - Good stage presence as always... please please play new songs... if I hear you play blades of steel again I will kill something.

One Shot Left - The best band on the bill yesterday.. very tight... cool parts... etc..etc.

Counting Heartbeats - I would have been more impressed if the sound was good... I sucks doing shows in big fernwood if your band has alot of dynamics... the drums (especially the snare) you could not hear at all. I like the songs though.

Pushing Up Daisies - The reason why everyone was there... once again the sound in big fernwood is garbage. But seriously the daisies are one of the most catchy bands on the island... fucking "Rasberry Jam" was stuck in my head for fucking hours!!! - Sat, 23 Apr 2005 7:30pm

Eight Bit Dream - They've changed in style a lot since I last saw them. They were pretty rad but seemed to have a lot of technical difficulties. Great band otherwise.

Moneyshot - Good fun pop punk. I always like to see Moneyshot play.

One Shot Left - Professional sounding rock band. Nothing really stood out to me but they did have a polished, easy to listen to sound.

Counting Heartbeats - I really enjoy the uptempo songs, they're awesome. The slower ones seem to lag a little bit, but I find that happens with a lot of slow songs live. Still a spectacular band, so much stage presence and an excellent sound.

Pushing Up Daisies - They put on a good set, maybe not their best but it was still energetic and sounded great. The CD is sweet.

Piss! So busted! Haha.
Remember ebony, "don't ask, just go with it."

=Keep your ears open Victoria cause Aidan and I are starting yet another band called "theeset".
It should be dope.
Our music will be very emotional and we'll be donning masive raver pants.
Get ready...or crumble in the wake of our mayhem.

Basicly what it all boils down to is that everything to do with live music in Vic is about Theset. They are the single greatest musical entity to emerge since Lythic Blue.

COME BACK JAY, PLEASE COME BACK! I miss your polyrythems, your odd time signatures, and your glowing smile!

Bring back the Blue.

P.S. Black Tie Social is changing formats into a "Theset" tribute band.
