Gabri~hell User Info... | Upside down bass playing!!! - Wed, 20 Apr 2005 2:28pm
Gabri~hell User Info... | Fuzzy photos due to my distaste of flash photography during shows, especially this show, with its muted ambiance and mellow mood. Greg & Co. were amazingly powerful singers and musicians, in an understated fashion. The upside down bass playing was my favourite part of the show, especially how the fellow slipped his hand around the strap whenever he needed to hit the higher notes! A lot of sweat poured from the brow of the hardworking Greg, as he emoted through his set, often switching up with his stage partner on guitar, and bass, duties for songs. My first time seeing Leeroy, and that wasn't at all what I expected. I thought he was going to be this raunchy boozehound-type, swaggering about the stage. But alas, no! His songs were strong, sweet and vulnerable. I missed most of the opening guitar-lady, who seemed very Jewel-esque, but her quiet singing and playing seemed to fit in nicely on this bill. Thanks to Ms. Helonwheels, in conjunction with her dialing finger and CFUV, for the free tix, Lucky for the show, and all the cool people we met that night for making it an enjoyable Mellow Monday! - Wed, 20 Apr 2005 2:30pm
Helonwheels User Info... | A truly brilliant performance, i am still replaying the whole night in my head. This was the second time that i have been to see Greg and he just gets better and better. He had the band with him this time which really added to the whole show and his intensity. He's a super super friendly nice guy, i had a great time talking with him and the band, it was one of those unforgettable nights, many laughs and awesome company. He's touring with Jord, who is the drummer from Propagandhi and an awesome guitarist/ bassist named Mike who was brilliant to watch as Gabri~Hell mentioned above. I didn't think that it could have gotten any better but it did...for the last song he played at my request "Remote Control" and said that it was for me! Yeah that rules. Great night, great time, great people with many magical moments. - Thu, 21 Apr 2005 10:26am
