Brooke User Info... | The UVic grad party April 9th was crazy as expected. Good crazy in some ways, but mostly bad crazy. It was extrememly packed by midnight, and the grads and company were very very drunk. Funny thing is, the two went perfectly together, because I swear half the people wouldn't have been able to stand up if they hadn't had the tightly packed crowd to hold them upright. Lots of local bands played. Black Tie Social played a good set; they really benefitted from having Vertigo's good sound. I can't remember who else... - Sun, 10 Apr 2005 4:14pm
Gare User Info... | Bad Crazy? you must must be insane! I had so much fun and I didn't see any trouble all night, not even a fight (with that much booze and college boys you'd expect a few?). Black Tie sounded great as did the bloodwarmers new line up. I tried to catch a little bit of everything but yeah near the end you couldnt really get around without a great deal of effort. Went super late and the bands seemed to get nice long sets and the drinks seemed to go as long as the music did. Slept all day but it was so worth it. - Sun, 10 Apr 2005 4:27pm
Brooke User Info... | Yeah, maybe bad crazy is a little harsh. It could be just the hangover talking. I can see how you would have had a lot of fun. They sure put a lot of work into the sound systems, I wish I had seen a few more bands play. - Sun, 10 Apr 2005 4:56pm
[+} User Info... | i couldn't get back in to see immaculate machine. so i did the only logical thing possible.. go see napoleon dynamite. it was the only thing that wasn't packed that night apparently. brooke: yeah, it was a gong-show but a bunch of fun to play. i wish i could have seen your guys' new stuff.. luke said you were playing half new stuff half old stuff. - Sun, 10 Apr 2005 5:16pm
Ian User Info... | For anyone who was there who didn't see Wil, shame on you...easily stole the evening, crowd would not let him leave until he did an encore. Amazingly full sound given the fact it's only him, his guitar, and a drummer. He was at his best and most rocking when he cracked out the acoustic, still rocking out even after he broke half the strings on his guitar. He seems to have a good following in Vic, check him out if you get a chance. Stabilo played afterwards, they're good but the crowd thinned out and I did the same. - Sun, 10 Apr 2005 6:20pm
RollingRocks User Info... | The sound for Wil was good. Is was too loud though. Acoustic guitar isn't supposed to hurt a deaf man's ears. I had a super dee duper time though. Thanks to the greatest explorers in the world for shamelessly promoting us when no one had really shown up yet. - Sun, 10 Apr 2005 9:00pm
RollingRocks User Info... | also to the greatest explorers, take me when you go to meet Trevor Linden. - Tue, 12 Apr 2005 11:33pm
Mi*coll* User Info... | Yup- it was bad crazy. I'll second that. I basically took off after watching the Immaculate Machine's set. I liked the new stuff, Brooke. Oh, another band I saw was the Bloodwarmers, and their set was great too. - Wed, 13 Apr 2005 8:15pm
