Lastight, show with Kincaide, Controller Controller, Elizabeth, DFA etc... great show, although, i failed to catch DFA. shame.
Kincaide amped the crowd with songs from the demo and old fav's... narrowly avoiding a keyboard catastrohpe! All was well in the end, and advertising was at an all-time high, in terms of tee-shirt bearing billboard/fans.
Controller Controller gave the verymost westcoast a taste of their hip-happenin' sound.. although we can't be sure about the hippy hair swinging on stage (not provided by Controller Controller themselves).
Overall, great show, lots of energy, good to see some great bands in nanaimo! - Mon, 4 Apr 2005 5:10pm

Fun show, but left with Erika early :S. A real shame we missed DFA'79, but had to get home to Vic. Anywoot...
Kincaide was frick'n ill. I loved these guys' new lineup (first time seeing them since I've been home). Dusty did a great job on guitar, and Deuce also. I think the keyboards REALLY filled out the sound, I loved everytime the keyboards came in, which is hard to do for me. Also, wicked nice guys, so that's always cool.
The next band was Careworn I think their name was... I liked them, there was a hardcore dance pit which I joined in on, which doesn't make much sense as there were no breakdowns... I guess Nanaimo kids are just starved for hardcore dancing goodness. Fun set.
3rd band, I can't remember the name... I wasn't really into them, the first song sounded like Charles Bronson to me, which I'm not a fan of, and the rest was pretty good, but would have been much ebtter if it ahd had vocals. Meh.
Next was Elizabeth, they were actually pretty good, I enjoyed them, but apparently they were kind of bullies to the poor local bands. Not cool, but oh well.
Last band I saw, Controller.Controller, was pretty wicked. I started erally getting into it, was not normally what I listen to, but I enjoyed it.
Anyawys, there's my review, all in all, a fun show, worth the drive out to Nanaimo, especially if we'd have gotten to see DFA. Bummer. Oh well, maybe next time. - Mon, 4 Apr 2005 5:18pm
