Lythic Matt User Info... | owwie. maurice = were very talented. highlights (ie the only parts i remember) were jory's guest appearance and a really nice norwegian wood cover. i don't think i'd actually seen maurice play ever before. theset = made me point a lot. i'm pretty sure i ong bak'd some chick in the head once. armchair cynics = whatever i write here i'll just be making up. me = total peach. - Fri, 1 Apr 2005 7:57am

julietron User Info... | woahwoahwoah! I am so happy I got to the show early to catch Maurice, they were soooo rockin'; loved the cover of Norweigen Wood so much++++ Do they have a CD out of anything? I must have it! - Fri, 1 Apr 2005 12:17pm
Nik Olaz User Info... | i was there and saw theset and couldnt believe how far my little darlings have gone, so i was in the alleyway crying most of the time. - Fri, 1 Apr 2005 4:55pm

beatch User Info... | maurice and theset made me want to dance. normally i just bob my head. i was very disappointed that i missed the cynics b/c i have enjoyed them in the past. - Sat, 2 Apr 2005 7:51pm
cooper User Info... | This was a fantastic show with a great turnout. Too bad more people didn't stick around for the Cynics though. Maurice did a spectacular job warming up the crowd, and the crowd certainly responded well. If only you guys had 'some' form of recording to sell at shows, I think people would snatch them up like crazy. - Sun, 3 Apr 2005 11:31am
cooper User Info... | Maurice's live show keeps improving, stage presence and in between song chatter is more comfortable. The song selection for this set couldn't have been better. You could feel the energy keep going up and up. - Sun, 3 Apr 2005 11:40am
cooper User Info... | The guest vocalist confused some people who maybe didn't get the joke or who weren't friends of The Set, but it was funny and it's cool to see fellow band camaraderie, haha. Pretty much the only criticism I'll give is that the backup vocals need improving, especially in the "confidence/sexy" song. Other than that, keep up the amazing work, get us a recording, and the people seem to be catching on to you guys. - Sun, 3 Apr 2005 11:46am
cooper User Info... | Next up was BOTM The Set. You guys really brought out an enthusiastic crowd. Partly because of Maurice's great warmup, but mostly because of your energy on stage. Or maybe it was the pants.... - Sun, 3 Apr 2005 11:52am
cooper User Info... | I was impressed with the tight sound, a drummer who actually seems into the music, and Martin's constant energy. I found myself chanting along with the crowd "Running! towards! something! better!" in All We Have Is This. - Sun, 3 Apr 2005 11:55am
cooper User Info... | It happened when I heard it on the recording too, and I wasn't expecting you to pull it off live, but something seriously happened in my pants when the vocal tremolo came in near the end of In Loving Memory! That was the highlight of the set for me. That having been said, I thought the vocal effects after that point were abused and really didn't add to the songs. I'm all for effects (just take a peek at my pedalboard), but they have to add something to the song. I think it's great to see a vocalist using some, but please use it sparingly. I don't think the crowd wanted to see the lead singer crouching on his knees half the show. But keep it in the In Loving Memory part!!! Other than that overly-harsh criticism, keep up the great work! - Sun, 3 Apr 2005 12:08pm
cooper User Info... | Last up was Armchair Cynics, who I haven't seen for nearly two years! I'm not sure why, 'cause they impressed the hell outta me. You can really notice the level of professionalism that separates this band from others. - Sun, 3 Apr 2005 12:16pm
cooper User Info... | Very tight & balanced sound, excellent lead & backup vocals, solid drumming by Ryan, and sweet 'n' smooth bass. - Sun, 3 Apr 2005 12:19pm
cooper User Info... | I 'finally' picked up Coffeeshop Confessions and I'm punching myself for not getting this earlier. It's been playing non-stop and I can't get Capitalize out of my head. I've heard the new mix of Surprise Ending and I'm not sure which one I like better! They're almost two completely different songs. I'm looking forward to hearing more new stuff and to see you guys take the stage again. Oh, and tell your label to get you a roadie to change Adams' strings :P Sorry for the crappy pics y'all. I'll try to do better next time! On a side note, it was really neat to see members from other Victoria bands (some of them former Zone BOTM themselves) down to support the show. Keep promoting and posting reviews and getting everyone you know out to see these bands. You might just like what you hear... - Sun, 3 Apr 2005 12:25pm
cooper User Info... | apologies to theset for continually spelling their name as two separate words. I'm a little slow... - Mon, 4 Apr 2005 1:15am

john User Info... | highlight - the norwegian wood cover lowlight the song with the guitar player from theset doing a linkin park homage. - Mon, 4 Apr 2005 5:36pm
laurafin User Info... | There was an unhappy number of people I did not want to see at that show. - Mon, 4 Apr 2005 8:25pm
