this show was wicked... i had never been to a show at this venue before. great place. the vendors were rockin hard, i enjoyed the feel of the music, i'm glad i finally got to see them live. theset, well all i can say is that was awesome. great stage presence from the frontman and great musicianship from the band. starless nights, what an assault of the senses... these guys were sweet, the 3 guitars did it for me. kincaide, what can i say about these guys, last night they were as insane as the pit was during their set, just wicked and moneyshot, for some reason this was the first time i'd ever seen them and i must say those guys are fucking rockin. straight ahead rock no bullshit, i dug that... oh and lest we forget the closing act... the piggies, man they suct or maybe it was because of the drunk kids, who knows. WICKED SHOW! - Sat, 19 Mar 2005 8:49am

the vendors were pretty good for their age. they're like what 14/15? thats pretty cool. they were a fun band.

next up was theset. they're pretty much the best emo band around. their sound was like a harsher version of bb king meets right said fred. good job!

then i didnt watch starless nights because they sounded like alexisonfire. i heard they had three guitarists. i suppose thats kind of forward thinking.

then was kincaide. they got the crowd going which is good. i had this sneaking suspicion that they were having too much fun! damn you kids

moneyshot is...uh not anything i'd ever pay to see. next time when their lead singer is bashing the cops, i'd like to see him do it in front of their faces. - Sat, 19 Mar 2005 3:07pm

WOWWW!!!! Thats the craziest show i've been to in a long time.. Thanks to all the 200 or so people that came out, there musta been 180/200 in the pit!
The Vendors kicked things off and I definatly see why these guys got nominated for 2 island music awards, for being so young they were very professional and had some really cool tunes, all i heard all night was "these guys are gonna be amazing in a few years".
theset took the stage next, and although I was really hoping for some Angel Of Death, they kicked serious ass. I definatly think the live show lived up to the goodness of their recordings. All the new songs were great, especially that one about John Travolta? Sexiest band in Victoria, hands down.
Starless Nights from Vancouver were next, 3 guitars of punk/screamo awesomeness! They're getting stoked to play Taste Of Chaos next week with The Used, Killswitch Engage, My Chemical Romance so that shows how good they are. Lots of stage energy and really great vocals and guitar parts.
Kincaide played next. Couldnt tell you how it sounded from the crowd, but thanks to every one of the crazy fuckers in that mosh pit, it was MASSIVE!! Our merch table at the back of the room was getting knocked over!
Moneyshot finished the night off, as always, Rock and Roll perfection, Motorhead meets Zeke meets Johny Cash. The played songs from their last 4 release and everyone was a sign along. All three singers were spot on with some great harmonies and it really looked like Moneyshot was having a ton of fun on stage. Finished the night off in a great way playing some Bad Religion.

Overall an amazing showcase of the Victoria music scene, very impressive to see the huge turnout considering there was no big touring band. Thanks to everyone who came out and thanks to the wonderful Scott Laming for doing sound and stage (electric frankenstein scott!)!! - Sat, 19 Mar 2005 3:07pm

i was taking pictures from behind the stage and i can't hear at all today. i was really impressed by the vendors. some excellent talent coming from a few 15 year olds. theset were awesome as always although my camera died half way through their set. kincaide were fucking amazing. definitely the most energetic band in victoria. they always get the crowd going. i expected starless nights to be different but i was totally impressed. 3 guitars made them sound so awesome. moneyshot were great as always although i was outside most of the time watching the drunk kid in the wife beater try to find his cell phone case. all in all it was an great all aGes show! i've got a few good kincaide pictures if you guys want em! lemme know. - Sat, 19 Mar 2005 3:17pm

Oh, this show was just awesome! So good, man!
We had a great time playing, and thanks for the kind words guys. We appreciate that so much.

Theset played after us, and besides suffering from slight schitzophrenia (they Inroduced themselves as Slayer AND Papa Roach), they played a freaking terrific set. Such a tight sounding band, you can tell that they have been practicing like a bunch of madmen. So pumped to see them again.

After Slayer, I mean Theset, was Starless Nights. There is only one way to describe those guys' show. Chaos. There were six of them, including the three guitarists, and they just went off. It was so cool so watch. Super high energy, awesome music. They were the band whose T-shirt I bought last night.

Kincaide played next. What can you even say about those guy? They absolutely slay everytime, and this was the best I've ever seen them. THE BEST band in Victoria, man. They are going places. I really liked the new song with the crazy keyboards. Deuce is da' man. Happy birthday Dusty. You all sure know how to stoke a pit.

Moneyshot closed the night up with their signiture sound, and killer energy. It was the second time I've seen them and I really enjoyed them. They have really high energy, and it was so cool how everybody knew the words to all of their songs. True Victoria heroes. The coolest thing I saw all night was Tyson's bass, and how it was covered in blood, but he still kept going. That's my boy!

Overall, probablly the best All Ager I've gone to in s long time. It's one I'm going to remember for a long time.
OH, and the Gary Oak Room get about 8 times better with a stage, eh? - Sat, 19 Mar 2005 7:47pm

The Vendors - These guys are insanely good for their age, i'm thinking of quitting my band and trying out as a synth player for them...i'm hoping to piggy back on their sure-fame.

theset - This band brought the suck, worst band period. Martin had hideous pants, Elliot is a flamer, Jory is a drunken cry baby, and Tristan has cheese tits. As for that bassist...whatever his name is, he was lame.

Starless Nights - Had crazy harmonies with the three guitarists in the band, very good sound, I would love to see these guys play again sometimes soon.

Kincaide - Intense...they had some killer new songs and the keyboard adds so much to their already wicked sound. Dusty's jump trick off the wall made me cum instantly.

Moneyshot - A very deserving headliner, their sound was soo tight. That bassist is a fucking trooper! - Sun, 20 Mar 2005 3:44am

This was the best show I've seen in Victoria by far... still doesn't compare to Ontario though :(.

I thought all the bands were fucking sweet, and the pit was awesome too. But why was there no pit for like the first hour?! I just don't understand. - Sun, 20 Mar 2005 7:09pm

Funny that, I'm living in Ontario right now and most of the shows out here aren't anywhere as fun as Vic gigs. Then again, maybe I'm biased... :) - Sun, 20 Mar 2005 9:00pm

the kid in the wife beater was something else, He was pushing kids from behind into the mosh pit.

so I told him that it wasnt cool, and then he went around telling everyone that I showed him how to mosh.

I'm really sad I missed starless nights set, but all the other bands were awesome.
and kincaide always spices it up.

good show matt. - Mon, 21 Mar 2005 2:22am

i missed the vendors, fairfield is a bitch to get to. theset always impresses the frontman's stage presence well you can't take your eyes off of him. finally heard starless nights play and they don't disappoint, i went to their show the next night at logan's and 1 of the 3 guitarist took a chip out of the overhead beam, intensity. kincaide is one of my local favourites always great to go out and watch them. moneyshot what a great way to end a night of live music a little sing along for me. thanks for an entertaining friday night. - Tue, 22 Mar 2005 4:47pm

Hey punky, it seems like you have some kinda big problem with me/kincaide? whats up with that!! I swear im a nice guys. Jenna is partly right as well, at the end of the show we had sold 220 tickets. The Gary Oak room can only hold 200 people so it was definatly full for most of the night. 75 people is a bit of an understatement. Oh yeah, the pit was wild! I've been going to all ages shows since I was 13 or so and that was definatly one of the biggest pit's i've seen!! - Mon, 28 Mar 2005 4:58pm
