Peter Gardner User Info... | So who else went? I quite enjoyed the show. Black Tie Social - These guys are oddly good. Like freaky good. They're the reason I went, and I was not disapointed. BA Johnson - Uhh. For anyone who's seen him before, you know it's deffenetly something different. For those of you who have seen him. It's basically just one guy, a 10 dollar keyboard, and an acoustic guitar (which looks like it was screwed together with cork board) singing songs from everything about Pita Pit girls, to a Deep Fryer in his room. It was funny at times, but sometimes just dumb. Bella - They were good. I liked the geeky looking guy's vocals the best. They were full of energy and I dug them alot. Immaculate Machine - They were good to. Some songs were kind of clutered (which is kind of odd since there are only three instraments in the band) but they just kind of were all blended into one. It could have been the mix with PA, but everything sounded good with the other bands. But I still enjoyed them none the less. - Sun, 13 Feb 2005 10:44am
Kaitie Sly User Info... | ya.....we had fun. t'was a fun show. BA johnson made me laugh. Bella was tight. Didn't get to hear Immaculate Machine, but I've already heard great things about them. Jason Cook on drums. - Sun, 13 Feb 2005 11:20am
[+} User Info... | thank you for coming out to dance and clap, for all the bands. BA Johnson is hellaciously funny, and bella were really really great. all their tones and sounds blended really well and they knew how to put together harmonies and songs that made you want to dance dance dance. IM were great as per usual, good energy from those locals. we want to see you all again; man do we love all ages! - Sun, 13 Feb 2005 1:36pm
k8 User Info... | That show was a lot of fun. Black Tie Social - definitely have improved since the last time I saw them (I think it was the Open Air show in the summer.) Very strong vocals, great guitar work, funky bass, excellent drumming, and a nice keys hook or two in there. They are lacking a little in the stage presence area but still have some chemistry going on on stage. I would definitely attend a Lovers In A Dangerous Town II if it happened. BA Johnson - was hilarious. Musically...not so great, but he was just so funny, I especially liked the pirate hook action. Bella - were cool and danceable. I didn't like their mp3s so much but live they were awesome. I liked the incorporation of drum machine and the vocals were nice. & the whole...I wouldn't call it beatboxing, but something along those lines, was pretty funny. Immaculate Machine - were superb as always. Peter, I can see how they can seem cluttered, they have a lot of fast drum fills and if you don't really like that it can be a bit distracting (personally, I like it.) The new song was rad and nothing beats vegetable percussion. I liked the interlude into Secret Affliction, too. Hope to see them play again soon. Oh, and good luck with your marriage, Tyler & Kathryn. If anyone wants photos send me an email. - Sun, 13 Feb 2005 4:23pm
changingweather User Info... | whatta rad show. BTS - Great, rad... would have loved to see some more keyboard action though. oh vell it was greeatt. BA Johnson - what more can i say that hasnt been said. funny. nice keyboards. nicer dance moves. Bella - Really the reason i caem. they were super tight and i loved on Upstairs how they all sang at the end. very nice people also. Immaculate Machine - Great as always. i hope tyler and kathryn's wedding goes well. their songs were super danceable - Sun, 13 Feb 2005 5:29pm
DK User Info... | Black Tie Social-I thought they were going to suck, but they totally didn't. Really good vocal harmonies and I have a huge crush on that new keyboard player. B.A.-The man is hilarious. Songs about drop kicking squirrels and neighbours fucking to Moist cds: total genius. Bella-Heard their album a couple weeks ago and thought it was great. They played well and were fun. Immaculate Machine-Seen them a million times, they are still good. I still say their drummer kinda looks like Iggy Pop. - Sun, 13 Feb 2005 6:14pm
Tyler User Info... | I had a lot of fun at this show. Black Tie Social - The last time I saw them was in June. They've improved a lot and I found their songs really catchy and full of professional detail. D'arcy and I looked at each other in awe during your disco-sounding song, as we tried to write one and it sounded nowhere near as good as yours. But all in all, it was a performance I enjoyed very much and I would go to another show just to see Black Tie Social again. I believe Mr. Aiden Knight is charismatic and talented and I don't often like to say that about people because my personal opinion is that practicing and solidifying skills is more important than talent. I took a lot of pictures of their bass player and bought the Ghetto demo. I do have to ask though, what was up with that older woman? It's cool that she was into the music and recording it all but it seemed a little odd when she tilted the mic towards herself and started singing. BA Johnson - It started out hilarious. Songs about nintendo games, deep fryers, squirrels... most involving how sad his life is or his psychotic visions. I think he hit his peak by his 4th or 5th song and then the rest were too similar and not as funny. I still enjoyed it a lot. I was especially fond of the song that involved the lyrics "and now I'm going to turn the cd off" and then turning the cd player off mid-bar. Also the fact that he switched up between a barely-alive acoustic guitar and a couple really cheesy synthesizers. He was hilarious and had great stage presence... breakdancing too. Hahaha. Bella - I believe my friends were more into Bella than I was. I do agree that the songs are very well-written and catchy. I did think that the guy was interesting and danced/sung well. And it was cool that they switched between instruments with each other a bit. I didn't think they were absolutely amazing, but I did think they were definetely worth seeing. I really should be writing more about them then BA. What else can I say... I guess you'd have to hear Bella for yourself. They have some songs on their site available to be downloaded. Pretty cool indie pop. And the guy was fun to talk to. Immaculate Machine put on one of their best shows that I've seen. Last all-ages show they did before this one, while it was pretty good, it lacked the energy that this show had. They played very well and were into it. I liked the use of Kate's shaker instead of a tambourine, haha. I've always been very fond of Immaculate Machine and would go to any all-ages show they played. That could be good or bad, I believe Kathryn (keys/voice) is a little creeped-out by me now that I've proposed to her mid-set. But she didn't say no, so she pretty much said yes. Right guys? Right. Kenny was a jerk to me and one of my friends while outside the venue. I don't know why people tolerate him. I took plenty of pictures and made a couple videos... the videos are: -a 10 second video of the bass player of BTS scratching her wrist while playing -a video of BTS playing silver screens.. maybe the first third of the song -a video of Immaculate Machine in the middle of skyscrapers I also have pictures of each band. If any of the bands want me to send them high-res versions of any of the shots for your site or anything, let me know. And give some small amount of credit on the site in a hard to find place. I've hosted all the pictures and videos (pictures resized) in this Ofoto album: http://www.ofoto.com/I.jsp?c=9e2l8yj.urhjp13&x=0&y=-suy6o8 you might need to sign up, I'm not sure.. Ofoto can be finnicky but it's the most convenient place for me - Sun, 13 Feb 2005 8:02pm

[+} User Info... | hey tyler. thank you for the photos, they look real pretty. would you mind if we linked some to our blog? we are always looking for more glam shots of nathan our roadie in hot pink pants. and thank you for the kind words. i know we were a little nervous playing for a crowd with a new keyboard player in our ranks, and at a show that we sort of fit into. - Sun, 13 Feb 2005 9:12pm

DK User Info... | ha yah mom was freaking me out too. Nice to see her out supporting little whoever she was there for. - Mon, 14 Feb 2005 1:58pm
darcy User Info... | Black tie social - Tyler all-ready said it. My favourite songs were the first and last one, along with silvercreens. The only piece of critisism (dude, i need to go back to english) is that, in the song with the violin loop, you should make it more a part of the song. It felt like it was just an added noise, and not something that added to the song. BA Johnston - really awesomeness for the first 5 songs, then got a little boring. still, that man is everything i want to become in my life. Bella - Man, I loved them. Everything in that band just clicked. I was shakin' ma booty to all of their songs. IM - probably their best set that I have seen. I do think that Luc is probably one of the islands top drummers. i liked the new song, and the cover. - Mon, 14 Feb 2005 6:11pm
[+} User Info... | tyler. you are right. these pictures aren't working for other people, so i will repost them. thank you for them all the same. - Tue, 15 Feb 2005 12:56pm
JasonLove User Info... | Thanks from BTS and every other band for coming out. It was a great show! ~I noticed that someone mentioned that they would be into "Lovers In A Dangerous Town II". Lucky for you we are in the planing stages of such a concert. Keep checking blacktiesocial.tk and blacktiesocial.blogspot.com for updates. ~Also, the lady who was filming and sang at one point is a very good friend of ours who cares about the band very much. We are forever in her debt for her support and appreciate her filming when our regular filmer can't make it. She just gets into the music alot. ~To all the other bands- You were all great! It was a night of true musican ship. (maybe not so for BA Johnson???) It was a pleasure to play with you all. black tie socialist unite now! JasonLove - Wed, 16 Feb 2005 4:08pm

VideoMaker User Info... | Interested in making "Lovers in a A Dangerous Town II" happen? I would need to "presell" the show (250 Tickets @ $8.00 a pop) for the show. We would try to book the White Eagle Hall again and have 3 other bands on the bill with Black Tie Social. I am pretty sure the Daisies would come on board as well as JP Maurice and personally I would like to invite LeeRoy Stagger and Jet's Overhead to play the show too. We can already get a least 50 people out to a BTS concert anytime anywhere, so all we would need is 200 more people and it would be a go. Anyway send me an email with feedback on all your thoughts and wishes on this show. I will start a new post when I have heard from the people. - Thu, 17 Feb 2005 6:33pm
