Nebula User Info... | The show was.... OH THAT'S RIGHT... I NEVER GOT TO SEE IT! Funny how that is since my name was on the guest list sent over by The Zone. The Zone was reserved 15 spots on the guest list for listeners to win the chance to see Limblifter. I work at The Zone so my name was put on there because I really really wanted to go and there was an extra spot. I was excited for weeks to see this show and upon arrival was told that it was sold out and being on the guest list meant squat! You would think there would be a rule against selling completely out when you know there are people on a guest list who will be coming. Thanks a lot Logan's Pub for ruining my night. With that being said... how was the show?? - Sun, 13 Feb 2005 9:44am
Chris Logan User Info... | Nebula - I'm sincerely sorry your night was so disappointing. A couple of things should be pointed out: the show was set up by an outside promoter, so we weren't involved with the guest list or radio promotions. Secondly, as many people on Livevic are aware, we've had ongoing problems with the definition of our official capacity for a couple of years now. To put it bluntly, last night two liquor inspectors came to the bar and told us not only to put an immediate cap on the audience but to THROW THIRTY PEOPLE OUT (emphasis mine). It certainly wasn't your fault you got stuck in the middle of this, and if you drop me a line via [email protected] we can try to arrange something to make it up to you. As far as our capacity issues go, we are in the process of having them resolved. Actually, if people knew all the details, last night's events would be funny in a sad sort of way. And, by the way, if anyone from the LCLB is reading this, we know the inspectors were just doing their job. :) - Sun, 13 Feb 2005 10:24am
Nebula User Info... | Thanks for pointing all that out Chris. I have heard of you guys having capacity issues and I do realize that you get put in a tough spot having to deal with the rules and kicking people out and such. I am just upset I missed it after looking foward to it for so long. I will get over it. - Sun, 13 Feb 2005 10:39am
Chris Logan User Info... | Hell, I'd be pissed if I were you. I'll send you a list of our upcoming shows and we'll get you on OUR guest list for something else you want to see. By the way, my brother phoned in a panic last night because the toilets in the bar were overflowing. So, in the end, it was a messy night all around. - Sun, 13 Feb 2005 10:50am
Nebula User Info... | Hehe, that sucks about the toilets! Never fun to deal with overflowing toilets. I would really appreciate seeing a list of the upcoming shows that Logan's will be featuring. If for nothing else than to just see what's coming up... but if you do let me on the guest list for one of them, that would be awesome too. [email protected] Thanks! - Sun, 13 Feb 2005 11:55am
Zippgunn User Info... | Good to know that John's in charge of the toilets. Keep up the good work... - Sun, 13 Feb 2005 1:06pm
Chris Logan User Info... | Hey Zippy - John's actually been hanging around in public toilets since he was about thirteen. - Sun, 13 Feb 2005 1:19pm
_Griphin_ User Info... | Wassa matter Nebula? Couldn't afford to see the gig? Or could you pay to get in?!? Ya know, getting on a guest list might be cool cause you get in for free, but the bands don't get paid and eventually our live venues might cease to exist. And well, since you work for a radio station that rarely supports our local talent (other then Band of the Month), for shame!!! And if I'm on a unclear rant, please excuse me. John's in charge of toilets?!? Tee hee hee, ya know, toilet, john?!? - Sun, 13 Feb 2005 2:00pm
The One After Two User Info... | I was pretty pissed off at the time... but slept off the rage. I did manage to see... sorry hear, some from outside but got bored and cold and there were weird sketchy drunks wandering around. Maybe you guys could bring Limblifter back soon as I was not the only one peering in and upset about missing the show. It would have been fun to see them at Logan's but maybe it should have been at Lucky? - Sun, 13 Feb 2005 2:02pm
Chris Logan User Info... | Well, like I said, the show was put on by someone else, but I like Limblifter and Logan's would definitely be the best place to see them, if they would consider us after last night. Again I want to assure everyone that our capacity problem is going to be solved very soon - I didn't want to say too much in my original post, but we should be allowed more than double the amount of patrons within a matter of weeks. The sad reality is that many local venues are driven to exceed their legal capacity 1)because often they're licensed for a number of patrons far below what the city and fire department would allow and 2) to get good shows, especially with out-of-town bands, they have to agree to sell more tickets than the liquor board would like. Some people think it's only to drive up the bar sales but in fact, it's often to keep on the playing field when trying to book bigger acts. Ironically, you can often have higher bar sales proportionally with FEWER people, because the service lines aren't so stretched. Anyway, I'll keep people apprised of our situation as it develops. And again, apologies to those who couldn't get in to the show. It certainly isn't that we WANT to keep people out of our bar. - Sun, 13 Feb 2005 2:23pm
Vegas J User Info... | Chris! I (almost) wanted to skip out on Nuvo that night to catch the brothers Dahl at your great joint!! Too bad about the troubles that night. I knew several people who had tix and were turned away but they understood it wasn't the fault of Logans. Listen man, I have to pay you the utmost of respect for the way you jump into this site and constantly clearly explain your position & offer help whenever there's issues to be addressed. It's admirable the way you run your business & communicate with the musical community in this forum. Thanks! - Sun, 13 Feb 2005 9:50pm
Chris Logan User Info... | Thanks Vegas. In all honesty Logan's would still be a health club cafeteria without the local music community. - Mon, 14 Feb 2005 3:55pm
The One After Two User Info... | do you guys do food? - Mon, 14 Feb 2005 4:57pm
