ok..I have to clarify a couple things..the order of the bands was as follows:

Throne of Ashes
Mitochondrion
BuryWhatsDead
Iskra

I think some people ditched early thinking the last band had played..even the sound guy thought there was only three bands. Bury whats dead have the fat dude playing drums ..the lame hats and get up were a joke (you know how serious metal and hardcore bands can be!) I hope some people got it. If you left early you really missed out on Iskra ..GREAT fucking new songs (mels vox were really intense) , and a couple old ones thrown in for good measure. Thanks for coming out to this show ( it was BWD's first bar show ever). Thanks to Throne of Ashes for ripping it up ...my first time seeing them and was really impressed. Mitochondrion tore through a great set of songs with a wicked cover at the end. BuryWhatsDead was next.(boring...) the end... see ya in Feb! - Fri, 14 Jan 2005 2:03am

ok.. i'll let you in..the pictures you attributed to iskra.. was burywhatsdead.. Iskra played after us. thanks for the kind words... we had a ton of fun playing.. Throne of Ashes were pretty amazing considering their vocalist only played 3 songs.. i really liked the guitarists vocals.. mito played an awesome set.. i really enjoyed the manowar cover.. and the new back up vocals. and iskra were THRASH MAD!! good times.. thanks to all who supported the bands.. and showed support for IMO a selection of victoria's finest. - Fri, 14 Jan 2005 2:05am

Iskra would like to thank all of the bands for playing. In case it wasn't clear, this was a benefit show for our tour, which starts (besides this show) on the 15th in Seattle with Inhaste and Consume.

Due to Thone of Ashes, Mito, and BWD we will have some money for gas and food. we're all fucking scraping the bottom these days, so this was a really big help.

Iskra are always available to do our part in raising money for touring DIY bands.

The show was a lot of fun. all of the bands were intense and tight (except us! ha ha) and we had a great time. it wasn't the Burnside Basement, but hey it was still alright. Iskra will be praying for you all while on tour. - Fri, 14 Jan 2005 2:14am

Freaking Hell... Explains why alot of people left at 12:20...Myself included... Burywhatsdead was awesome... MAIN EVENT STATUS, thats why I thought it odd they did not play an encore and I was home so early..
Too bad I missed ISKRA...but even Logans chalk board had THREE bands on it...the posters and here said FOUR...

thats my pet peeve kicking me in the ass tonight...Bands not introducing themselves... I kind of like to think of myself as an informed customer/fan (Not related to anyone in the band) How the Fuck is anyone else supposed to know - Fri, 14 Jan 2005 2:15am

we've never done any postering, and we pay very little money to our guitarists moms boyfriend for rent. plus introducing ourselves? what? no way jose. we like to make the audience GUESS. - Fri, 14 Jan 2005 2:16am

I think the audience (and the bar) ended up totally confused with this one! Everyone is gonna think Iskra sucked and "that last band" ruled..when in fact we all know its the other way around. - Fri, 14 Jan 2005 2:19am

Yep, I had a little problem with figuring out who was who also . I think it may be rock school 101 to introduce yourselves right before you play and after to help the dumbass’s like me to figure out who’s up there ? There was good and bad in all the bands , some of the bad being sound related problems .
We did enjoy the show and all the bands , so don’t get me wrong if I seem negative ,

Hey Wolf where the hell were you bro ? Was going to introduce myself but I didn’t see you ? Aaahh fuck next time mate !

And thanks John for getting us in and the hospitality you’ve shown my wife and I , we owe you man ! - Fri, 14 Jan 2005 3:26am

I missed the first two bands. From the last two bands response it was a solid show. Despite the tech problems Iskra did a great set. have fun on tour. - Fri, 14 Jan 2005 10:23am

Mito played a rad set and BWD was good but was lacking a certain science fiction theme. Sloppy poo breaks were in ample supply though. I would like, however, to see at least one Mito show where Shawn doesn't try to make love to my butt. The muscial war between our bands continues. - Fri, 14 Jan 2005 11:48am

Bury What's Dead were fucking loud that night wholy shit. Sorry to anyone I attacked with feedback while doing vocals for Iskra. We all begged the sound guy to turn down the mic sound on stage but to no avail. I should have just unplugged the monitors or something. I don't mind if I sound like shit, but mic feedback is just rude to the audience: it ruins your ears! I think he was mad at us or something because he thought Bury What's Dead was the last band. Mitochondrion brutalled through some deathgrind (hahah take that genre police) and Throne of Ashes did awesome despite their singer being on his deathbed. Thanks to the bands for playing this show with us to get us off the island. We owe you guys. - Fri, 14 Jan 2005 11:48am

good times. ALL bands ruled (sorry I had to skip out on Iskra's set . . .yeah I know huge poser right here . . . but when aren't they good?). and dispite our pre-performance "ordeal" everything was great.

a genuine thanks to all who made that "ordeal" go smoothly.

and Ernest if you want me to stop making love to your butt stop wearing those goddamn mini-skirts . . . I JUST CAN'T HELP IT!!!!!!! Let the war rage.

Good luck Iskra and thanks for putting us on this bill . . . easily our best show. - Fri, 14 Jan 2005 12:07pm

Great show, folks! And the turn-out - awesome! If only more could've been allowed in, instead of dealing with the line-up situation.
First time seeing TOA - great wall of guitar heaviness - the big doom explosion! Shoulda taken note of amps and gits. With a really nice studio, these maniacs could make a really killer fuckin' sounding mean-ass recording. It was cool seeing the guitarist (who took over the singing) playing that particularly atonal, dissonant solo in the last or second to last song. And your tolerance for hearing our Beatles stuff behind your wall is quite appreciated.

/I think Noel needs to start Pilates.

/ducks and covers.

Everyone else was in their fine, fine form. Have a splunge tour, Iskra. (Make sure Scott sleeps with his arms by his side.) - Fri, 14 Jan 2005 2:28pm

What a great fucking show. Thanks to all the other bands. Mitochondrion needs to include more screamy Manowar vocals in their original shit. Seriously. BWD: loved the Willie Nelson headband on Matt(?) and the sound was fucking killer. You put the w in rawk. Iskra: I had to duck out before y'all came on (stupid work) but from what I heard, you tore it up yet again. Best of luck on the tour, guys.

Thanks especially to the shitload of people who made it out; the place was packed by the time WE came on at 9:45. We got a great reception despite the unfortunate circumstances surrounding our singer. Noel gets 3 million bonus points for taking the stage in the state he was in, and Evan gets 2 million bonus points for covering for him in the second half of the set.

Fuck yeah. - Fri, 14 Jan 2005 3:06pm

After Mitochondrion, I had to leave cause all though I'm sure the other two bands are kick-ass, NOTHING was gonna top that fucking Manowar cover Mitochondrion did, at least for me! That was the most metal thing i've heard or seen in a long time! MITCOHNDRION RULES!

The Gods Made heavy Metal~!! Fahkin rights. That shit kicked some serious ass. However, I think mitcohndrion could use a trigger on the snare. The drumming was killer, but durring the blast beats the snare strikes get quiet. Almost lost all togather. I really enjoyed the vocals.

Throne of Ashes are alittle simple for me.

Bury Whats Dead, well like the last time I saw them they fuckin ripped. Man Willie shreds. Saving Throw kicked ass.

Thank you to all who came to this show. We (Mitochondrion) definitely feel it was one of our better sets. I definitely was not expecting such a good response to the cover. METAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL!

As far as DestroyerR's comment about the snare being quiet goes, triggering the snare is probably the last thing we would ever do. I cannot speak for my drummer, but in my opinion, snare dynamics are too important to throw away by triggering. The sound guy should have turned up the mic on the snare if it was too quiet. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a loud crushing snare sound. \m/ - Sat, 15 Jan 2005 2:45pm

I only caught TOA set, and it was quite good, too bad about Noal getting off the stage, but I thought the guitarist did a good job of filling in.

Sorry to all the other bands but I had to leave early as my day starts at 6am, but I've seen you all many times anyway! HAH!
