Vegas J User Info... | I wanted to check out Maurice so much I borrowed a car to get to the show...which although cool (Thanks T!)was a drag 'cause I had to leave by 11:30 to get it back on time! I gotta say...I was blown away! Very mature and ambitious songwriting and performance from such "young dudes" and they've got an image that will take them far! Crowd loved them and JP looked like he was giving everything he had to his performance..and I suspect he was fighting a cold..though you'd never know it. Awesome! Good crowd of people there..I was really happy to see Wolf, LLRH, Haden, Skye from Zappnin' and The Princess from Killing Flaw there..SO wish I could've stayed longer & Drank more! I left as Machina (Fully Loaded) started their set and they sounded great too...Nick's a strong frontman! Victoria has a ton of talent to be proud of...I hope Big Muff's last show will be a night to remember for them!! Next time Maurice plays and I can stay longer I'll buy the band a 'round! Cheers! OK Wolfie, post your shots! Thanks for not taking a pic of me without my makeup (joke) - Sat, 8 Jan 2005 11:42pm
Skai User Info... | I arrived a little late and only caught the last three songs from Maurice while I was standing in line for beer. What a great original sound. The freshest thing I've heard around these parts in a while. Next up was Machina, formerly Fully loaded. These gents have a smooth sound, great stage prescence(sp) and fit in good with what is current in the music scene. Actually I've no knowledge on what is 'current' but these cats seem to fit the bill. Now, I've seen Muff tons of times and really may be a bit biased in my statements. The new drummer, Shawn (????), is an excellent addition to the band. Lots of tasty fills and skin-trickery. I don't know if Muff reworked some songs or that I've seen them so much that I'm more familiar with the tunes but I noticed alot more cool guitar runs and tandem licks between guitars and bass/drums. Hopefully we've not seen the last of 'em. I was suprised to see so many people out. I thought for sure that the weather would be too much for everyone, but I was proved wrong and was glad to see such a great turn out. When are they gonna shut that joint down and renovate to accommodate????? - Sun, 9 Jan 2005 8:28am
Sean McMuffin User Info... | I had a blast. But this is a message to the drummers of Maurice and Machina. Great show guys - inspiring. Dudes, there was a pressure drum tuning key left behind. I have it, get in contact with me and we'll figure out how to get it back to you (snowed in in Brentwood). - Sun, 9 Jan 2005 11:42am

The Wolf User Info... | If you don't know...this is Maurice..catch them soon while you can...just a great sound in Steamers....Can't imagine hearing them at Logans or Lucky in a venue with better sound - Sun, 9 Jan 2005 2:03pm
Haden User Info... | I'm sad that I missed Maurice. That's the second time that I've missed their set. I am now determined to actually see them next time. After being locked up in my place for two days having little to no human contact other than the phone and odd sightings at my house, being in Steamers was a bit too much. It was so packed!! Great crowd! Fun show. - Sun, 9 Jan 2005 2:09pm

The Wolf User Info... | In some ancient Greek drama, an apparently insoluble crisis was solved by the intervention of a god, often brought on stage by an elaborate piece of equipment. This "god from the machine" was literally a deus ex machina. http://newark.rutgers.edu/~jlynch/Terms/deusexmachina.html PETROL http://www.epitonic.com/artists/petrol.html I didn't know you guys were 4 irish lads, Good luck with the name change...I think its too obvious of a Smashing Suckins reference LOL - Tue, 11 Jan 2005 11:45am
