I just got back from the Smoked Out Brainzzz and the Faces of Black show and if you were not there you missed out. The new line up is great!! A much faster heavier sound than you all probably remember from them. I couple older re-vamped songs plus new songs that got the crowd jumpin!! No huge doobies going around this time - their reputation seems to precede them of late. Make sure you get a ticket for their next show cuz I bet it will sell out. Keep up the good work guys!!! I liked Faces of Black too but to be honest I went to see the s.o.b's - Sat, 6 Nov 2004 1:41am

Got there too late to catch FOB. I was told that they covered Slayer's 'Bloodline'. Would have been cool to hear! I trust they put on an excellent show as always.
SOB have really blossomed into a beautiful young lady. The aggression that negates all claims of hippidom was very up front and present. Mike fits in great on the guitar. Brian gets more mind-boggling on the drums each time I see him play. Matt is beyond solid on bass and vocals. SOB are very unique and that is what makes them a huge asset to Victoria. A band that truly writes music from the heart and guts. My only gripe was that they didn't play '10 To 2' or 'Rick Santos'. Or did they and I was too drunk to realize what was going on?
Diego's stage is most impressive, but the P.A. needs some beefing up.
I was also surprised to see Sergeant Lysol still staggering around the bar after midnight. I guess he laid off the cheap wine for a night. - Sat, 6 Nov 2004 2:02pm

What a great show! We had so much fun opening for Smoked Out Brainzz! They rocked the night away! Thanks to everyone who came out to support this show. Diego's treats their bands well and we really appreciated the staff's interest in what is going on in today's local music scene. If you are looking to play somewhere cool, check out this venue. Oh and Mike, you're right. We didn't play Bloodline lastnight but it's in the works. - Sat, 6 Nov 2004 10:13pm

I guess I didn't hear your drummer correctly. All the noise and vodka can be rather disorienting when you've had too much of both.
Anyhow, that should be an interesting take on a Slayer song. - Mon, 8 Nov 2004 3:42pm
