Mr. Hell User Info... | Who went? I wanted to go but I've been sick as fuck for days and unable to even walk properly. I am pissed that I missed this show, but I would feel a little better if I heard some reviews. Anyone able to help? - Sun, 17 Oct 2004 4:40pm
Bryn User Info... | I have absolutely nothing good to say about this show, so I'll keep my trap shut & hope you enjoy these snaps I took... - Sun, 17 Oct 2004 7:54pm
Bryn User Info... | The nickname "Diamond Dave" is already taken in a big way... - Sun, 17 Oct 2004 8:00pm
Bryn User Info... | A lot of other people liked 'em, so what do I know? - Sun, 17 Oct 2004 8:04pm
One Divided User Info... | I was there.. I guess I didn't get it.. Call me shallow if you will, but I'd say it sounded shallow.. I can't enjoy a band without a bass instrument. I did admire some of the singers comments though: "Let's hear it for.. US!" and to top it off, he was wearing his own band's shirt! Not a lot of bands can say stuff like that and get away with it. Not a lot of bands can have a 70 year old guitarist with a mohawk, flying-v and bubbles glasses either. So yeah, they were funny, that's about all I got out of them.. Enough people seemed to like them though. I thought "bullets and Octane" were quite enjoyable.. really entertaining, grity rock 'n roll.. - Sun, 17 Oct 2004 11:09pm
Curmudgeon Rocker User Info... | Is it just me, or is there something....not quite.....right.....about the name of their band? - Fri, 22 Oct 2004 8:32am
ML7Mike User Info... | I saw them on Leno.. or was it Conan.. but they had the QOTSA/Kyuss guitarist Josh on drums.. - Fri, 22 Oct 2004 10:56am
The Wolf User Info... | Curmudgeon Rocker Despite the name, the Eagles of Death Metal are not a death metal band. J.Everett Hughes says the name came for a response to a drunken man who argued Poison were death metal. He said that Poison were the Eagles of death metal. Mr. Hell User Info... | From all accounts on this thread and from people who were there, the studio album slayed their live show. I still would have really liked to have met Jesse "The Devil" Hughes and Dave Catching! I bet those guys have some very entertaining stories to tell. I am told they stayed at The Red Lion Inn. Maybe Brother Goose has a story to tell? Josh is doing production work in the studio, therefore could not commit to touring. Just as well... - Fri, 22 Oct 2004 1:42pm
roxy User Info... | thanks for the ridiculously short show guys. next time you charge 16 bucks for a show, could you put in a little more time? a lot of people were lookin' forward to the show for a good month and were sorely disappointed by the length of the set for the money that was shelled out. boo-urns. sicerely, everyone i've talked to. - Sun, 24 Oct 2004 3:50am
Jesus Christ User Info... | I wasn't going to reply to this thread, but its starting to annoy me. I am an Eagles of Death Metal fan, and discovered them from their contributions to Desert Sessions Volumes 3 and 4. My opinion of the show is that it they fucking slayed. As far as not playing long enough goes; WTF do you expect when they only have one album out. Fuck, when I saw QOTSA at the Ice House they played a set of equal length; and I don't remember anyone complaining. My guesses are, if any of you people bitching had heard the album a few times before you going to the show, you probably would have had an equally enjoyable experience. Maybe you're not "qualified" to comment. - Sun, 24 Oct 2004 11:21am
Tom User Info... | Hello, Saw the show and fuckin' loved it. Although it was short, it was great to hear the tunes I've been loving for the past 6 months finally played live. Shared a couple of joints with J. Devil after the gig and he's a damn cool muhfucka. BTW, both Dave Catching (sometimes guitar for QOTSA) and Joey Castillo (drums QOTSA) were indeed playing. Mr. Hell, sorry you missed the gig. I know how you feel, I had that flu for the whole fucking month of September. Have a good day all Tom Adlersparre - Wed, 27 Oct 2004 1:03pm
Bryn User Info... | ...and plus J. Devil looks just like Ned Flanders! - Wed, 27 Oct 2004 6:27pm
