DOOMHAMMER User Info... | I think they could have played another couple songs with the crowd chanting as they were. And my nose is still bleeding (which is good fucking times). - Thu, 23 Sep 2004 2:05am
Curmudgeon Rocker User Info... | Yeah - they definitely should have played more songs. Apparently Lord Worm had no voice left which expained why he sounded a little on the quiet side. Still ruled over DiSalvo and Lacroix, the latter actually not being too bad himself. Cool to finally fuckin' see L.W. All that "None So Vile" goodness! What the hell was in that chalice anyway? (did not imbibe.) - Thu, 23 Sep 2004 8:08am

CHAMPIONOFHELL User Info... | Ripping show, WORMS! If anybody wants VHS copies of the show, I filmed over 40 minutes of the madness. $7.00 get's you a piece of Metal History. e-mail [email protected] - Thu, 23 Sep 2004 2:46pm
Livevic Scott User Info... | I think I might have to get a copy from ya! Thanx to everyone for comming!! It was one of the best shows on the tour for the bands if we keep this up we'll be known for our metal secene sooner then ya think! - Thu, 23 Sep 2004 3:44pm
Mordock.the.Benzite User Info... | Cryptopsy were rad of course...but did anyone else notice the psycho bouncers at that fucking place? Nice "wall of justice" around the pit guys. The big fat fuck in particular was throwing anyone who was in the pit that came in reach of him and was obviously trying to hurt people(I even caught a couple of the other bouncers looking at him like they were thinking "What the fuck is this douche on.") The dude with the shaved head also bent my fingers back after I stepped in front of him to block him from intimidating a friend of mine (a woman 1/4 his size). Nice one guys...I hope you enjoyed your night of playing big man. Mantastic!! - Thu, 23 Sep 2004 4:48pm
Mutilashawn User Info... | just another classic example of a venue, not used to hosting to a metal crowd, anticipating imaginary tough guy attitudes from those in attendance. - Thu, 23 Sep 2004 5:44pm
Bo-dom User Info... | I thought ML Mike said that Bloodshoteye had the singer of LoG doing back-ups? I really didn't expect him to be there, being on tour and all, but just curious if that was true? - Thu, 23 Sep 2004 7:31pm
Bo-dom User Info... | nevermind, lost my laziness and checked out the site, it is true.. - Thu, 23 Sep 2004 7:38pm
Akylore User Info... | Yeah this show kicked ass... "The Chalice of (what I imagined was supposed to be) Worms" http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v126/Akylore/lordwormschalice.jpg A few sweet live shots: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v126/Akylore/cryplive_1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v126/Akylore/cryp_live2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v126/Akylore/cryp_live3.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v126/Akylore/eric_live1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v126/Akylore/eric_live2.jpg Wolf was right; the crowd was RIGHT INTO IT http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v126/Akylore/cryptopsy_crowd.jpg Flo's solo...I wished I waitied for a 'blasting shot,' lol http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v126/Akylore/flo_solo.jpg This show was exactly what I needed, this was virtually a Cryptopsy 'None so Vile' reunion, lol with some 'Cold Hate, Warm Blood' and 'Defenestration' on top, SO GOOD!!!! I'm still sore from that pit... - Thu, 23 Sep 2004 9:43pm
Name/Alias User Info... | Was I so blind that it looked like Jon Lavaseeuuurrr (original & co-founding member) had morphed into a dude that looked nothing like him? In other words, where the fuck was Jon? Anyone know? Or was I needed some glasses/spectacles/bi-focals? Deadly show nonetheless. Way to go Meat. Locker 7, that is. - Thu, 23 Sep 2004 10:34pm
Curmudgeon Rocker User Info... | I yelled out to Miguel what was up with Jon. "Life", he responded. As he was heading onstage he couldn't really elaborate. - Thu, 23 Sep 2004 10:48pm
jay brown User Info... | That show fucking slayed me. The openers were good, nice to see a chick belting out tunes like that. Meatlocker fucking killed me, man it sure is cool to watch those guys over the years and see what they have become now. Cryptopsy, holy fuck, I just stood there in awe and watched his hands play those drums. Hell sometimes they were going so fast I couldnt even see them. That drum solo....wow. The bouncers were fucking retarded, that bald guy was just an idiot. Not a fucking clue what a metal show is like so anytime he saw somebody having fun in the pit he tried to hurt them. I sat there and watched him for a while and he literally just stood there and waited for people to move so he could hurt them. Exactly the wrong kind of person to have as a bouncer. Other than the meathead security I thought it was an awesome show. One day someone actually has to explain to roid monkey muscleheads that the crowd pay to get in so esentially they are paying your wages for the evening, and i'm pretty sure that nobody paid to get worked over by some idiots that just want to be tough guys. ah well, it didnt wreck my night the bands still fucking ruled. - Fri, 24 Sep 2004 1:15am
J. Peatman User Info... | I was surprised to realize that Bloodshot Eye had a girl on vocals, after spending a few minutes outside hearing the pretty ok "deathcore" blasting out the venue doors. They had the best sound of the night, the use of just one guitar being the main reason I guess, making it easier to make a transparent mix. Meatlocker 7 played pretty tight and showed they're well seasoned musicians once again. I hadn't heard them with DM Dave before, who did a great job, for as far as I could hear. Too bad about some undefined frequencies masking the whole audio picture (haha what a term). And Cryptopsy...well, first thing I want to get off my chest is: Why does it always take so freaking long for big headlining metal bands to take the stage?? Really, the gear is set up, the crowd is ready and the musicians are...doing what exactly? Reading magazines? Brushing their hair again? Waiting for the stage temperature to reach the desired degree? Really, I have seen too many metal shows where crowds are kept waiting up to the point of annoyance, just for vanity reasons. I once waited far over an hour for Satyricon after the opening act, only to be able to see not even half a set due to public transport closing. Luckily Hiphopsy didn't let it get to that extent. I've never really been a big fan of theirs, and although I admire their skill and musicianship overall I just wasn't very impressed. Partly because the sound wasn't the best either. I only noticed that there was a second guitar present when it suddenly got turned up and some simultaneous movement occured in the dark far right corner of the stage. The Dickinson-back-in-Maiden-hype about Lord Worm is something I'll never understand. All I heard was monotonous unpronounced low end, kinda just like on cd. I didn't stay to watch the whole set, and noticed that, when crossing Bastion Square, the outside sound was way better and clearer. It would almost have even been more attractive to enjoy the show out there, had the local conditions been better, haha. For a real fresh breeze in an otherwise overfished and crowded genre, Victoria should get a great band like Virulence to come over. - Fri, 24 Sep 2004 2:47am
ML7 Mike User Info... | For the record, Lord Worm lost his voice back in Manitoba. Every show his ability to sing was less.. But he still managed to get up and belch it out.. Rythmic Yelling is what he calls it. But ya,, by the time the Victoria show happened, he definately wasnt up to par as far as his abilities go. - Fri, 24 Sep 2004 2:07pm
Natalie User Info... | I agree, this show was fucking killer. Im still hurting lol. I thought it was kind of funny the vocalist in bloodshot eye was rocking a doors shirt haha. - Fri, 24 Sep 2004 2:26pm
Mutilashawn User Info... | oh man, I was just watching the live "Graves of the Fathers" video on the Cryptopsy site for the umpteenth time . . . and fuck our crowd completely blows that Toronto crowd away. Plus I don't blame Lord Worm for vocal problems . . . the man has been outta the touring loop for QUITE sometime, and however many shows in a row can really do a number on your vocal chords . . . dispite if it is inward or outward. - Fri, 24 Sep 2004 9:02pm
The Other Nick User Info... | Best song of the night: Defenestration. With the drum solo and the window smashing sample near the end, that song couldn't have turned out any cooler. Next time i listen to that song, im going to make smashing noises all over the place. Worst Song: probably Orgiastic Disembowlment or cold hate warm blood. I could barely distinguish anything, and honestly had no idea what was being played, and i basically know these songs by heart. Cryptopsy's sound should have been better. Meatlocker 7's sound was better than Flipflopsies easily. - Mon, 27 Sep 2004 9:50am
Mr. Hell User Info... | The soundman, Jake Disman is THE metal soundman of the industry. I can assure you that any falibilities in Cryptopsy's sound originated from the equipment or player of the offending instrument. Great end to a fun tour! Bloodshoteye and Cryptopsy are all friendly, generous and gracious people. We promised everyone a mindblowing turnout for the last date together in Victoria and you crazy motherfucks did not disappoint! Thank you to everyone who came out despite the Wednesday night timing. And thanks to everyone who came to the after party at the jamspot (or as Flo called it "The Sausage Party at Meatlocker's House"). Always nice to get a private 20 minute Flo Mournier drum solo...wish more of you persevered and tried to find out what was up after! As Lord Worm might have put it, "The metal scene in Victoria...nice." - Mon, 27 Sep 2004 7:08pm
Død[]Sanger User Info... | That show was fucking ripper!!! Too bad I blew 2 bills on brew and fell down the stairs twice though, ahhaha On the bright side, at least I snagged 2 longsleeves and had em signed by Worm! Wish they could have had a longer set, but when you hear Worm trying to talk normally with his throat all torn up, you can appriciate the fact that the set was as long as it was. Huge thanks for bringing em' here again Ml7, rott on \m/ - Wed, 29 Sep 2004 12:41pm
Akylore User Info... | Interesting note: Cryptopsy played in Victoria on Sept 22nd, the Autumnal equinox, which is also a "LaVey-en" Sataninc holiday... - Fri, 1 Oct 2004 12:52am
