Professor Plum User Info... | Hey Everyone. Just letting those of you that didn't make it to Port Alberni, Saturday August 14th, missed out! Seven killer bands including The Presidents of the United States of America, put on an awesome show. Two Victoria bands "A Mouthful of Bees" and "Vin Cat" put on a hell of a show, considering they are just starting out. The show stealers though had to be "Trace Element" and "Mr.2Cents", two local Port Alberni bands, who played a bunch of high energy covers along with originals for the crowd. They definately woke everyone up and people finally started to mosh! The Presidents were good, although maybe not good enough to win over the locals, and their hometown bands. Hopefully next year we might see some more Victoria bands on the bill. Faces of Black would have been good to see! - Mon, 16 Aug 2004 1:23pm
maniac User Info... | yes, yes, indeed it was a great weekend for all who made the treck up to Stamp River. Lots of great bands, Lots of swimming in the river, Lots of horse poo, and Lots of beer..... This festival was set up to be absolutely HUGE. Unfortunately, they expected around 1000 pple and only got around 500?! That's my guess anyhow. The heat kept the crowd down infront of the stage but after the sun went down.....Mouthful of Bees, Trace Element, & Mr. 2Cents paved the way for a great comeback show for the Prez. Note to promoters for next year! Put some heavier bands on the bill. I felt like I was listening to the fricken radio all throughout the daytime acts......See you next year, if they are brave enough to try it again. - Mon, 16 Aug 2004 5:06pm
Kris North User Info... | I dont like being negative BUT, I really liked mouthful of bees and I am in love with the presidents. I didnt like trace element and nor did I like Mr. 2 Cents. Straight up. They sounded like drunken bar cover bands. and the one from seattle sounded like nickleback to the hizzo fo shizzo. But this show was so rockin. SOOOOOOOOOOO good. lots of fun. and the presidents made my whole life worthwhile. they were amazingly high energy. - Mon, 16 Aug 2004 7:14pm
Professor Plum User Info... | Too funny. Being in one of the bands from the show, I actually complemented Vin Cat. But since you feel you need to say it like it is, here goes. You sucked. Not so much the style of music, but your musicianship. God awful. Learn to play. Please. - Mon, 16 Aug 2004 8:32pm
Kris North User Info... | Oh my online drama. Dude all the bands knew what they were doing and did what they wanted. I did come across as a dick or something in what I said on that post. Sorry for offending you so. I was just putting my personal opinion on the post. Don't be offended cause the crowd at that show had their say man. Lots of people liked those two bands. I didn't. Whatever. I feel bad and I'm sorry you didnt like the way we played our instruments. And also dude, those bands are good at what they do-I just wasn't digging what they did. - Mon, 16 Aug 2004 11:56pm
Kris North User Info... | PS. its cool how you listed your own band as the show stealer. - Tue, 17 Aug 2004 12:13am
Professor Plum User Info... | Just stating the obvious. 2 Cents and Trace Element were the most experienced and had the biggest crowd response. Doesn't that mean "show stealers" to you? - Tue, 17 Aug 2004 3:01pm
rusted hub cap User Info... | i was just wonderding what band professor plum was from? And for the record I am pretty sure the presidents had the best crowd though man, c'mon everyone was covered in dirt and choaking on it becuase they were dancing so hard! also i am from vin cat, and i think professor plum and kris should kiss and make up and stop bad talking eachothers bands. no one is at fault! and no one sucks! everyone has a different opinion of what is good music, and who is good at playing it. - Tue, 17 Aug 2004 4:44pm
rusted hub cap User Info... | one more thing professor plum, how can you say trace element and mr 2 cent were the most experienced, i think having number one hits, and touring around the world like the presidents have done whould be considerd having the most experience. mehh. whats most important is that we all got to play a cool summer festival! is doenst matter who thought what band was the best. - Tue, 17 Aug 2004 4:59pm
