Werd... I only went to the free shows. Highlights for me were Uprite Dub Orchestra (www.upritedub.com), I have been listening to them constantly since I heard them. Zjolt Sandor or whatever was also lots of fun. 10 Too Late put on a good show, but I think they are better on the smaller stages... just my opinion... Hoochy Girls were tons of fun, like always. Los Furious was also worthy of mention... Crowed seemed very into them.

K so Strangejah Cole and The Debonaires were highlights for me. I also thought Monkey kicked ass and Westbound Train were really good as well. Then of course there was Dr Ring Ding and King Django, they were kicking it. And Still one of my highlights of the festival will be Los Furious little 54/46 tribute with What I got in it. THe sublime medley/solo/freestyle was totally kick ass with tons of different bands all on the stage together to tribute one of the greatest bands of all time. that was a huge highlight for me. but anyone who missed Strangejah Cole is a mad man. AND JESUS i almost forgot califfio de luxe...if you didnt see them i will never be able to describe. - Wed, 21 Jul 2004 8:35am

I only went to the free shows as well. Regretting not going to the paid ones.

I agree with you Dan on Ten Too Late, I think they are a lot better in a more 'intimate atmosphere' -- I donno, they were just lacking in the whole stage presense department that day, not sure why. Aside from that their performance was awesome, Ian's rapping is sweet.

My favourite of the two shows was Los Furios, my first time seeing them, & like Kris said, their medley/freestyle thing at the end was great. Hope to see this band again soon.

& The Soul Captives were excellent, too.
Heck, all the bands were great. The Hoochy's new song was cool (although they didn't play Dinosaurs, hmph) & they seemed to be having a lot of fun on stage. Westbound Train were great & so were Monkey. I missed Uprite Dub Orchestra. Zsoldt Sandor was kinda weird but cool. You can call him a fairy or a fag? -- Best lyric.

Great shows. Sounds like everyone had a good time. - Wed, 21 Jul 2004 9:19am

Strangejah Cole and Dr. Ring Ding had to be the highlights for me. Eastern Standard time also ripped it up, as did Califfio de Luxe. Man, it was an intense weekend. I can't wait till next year. Dane, we love you! - Wed, 21 Jul 2004 9:15pm
