Black Kitten User Info... | When They Said They Had Been Saved I Didn't Believe First off, this review needs a little lead in. Way back in September I got to see what I though were the two most amazing shows ever. First,Social Distortion, which I should need to explain. If you have never seen Mike Ness live you just wouldn't understand. Second,Big John Bates and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. The show was so awe inspiring that I walked away from the show feeling as though all was right in my world. I told the few people I know and the fewer I thought would understand that it was the closest I had ever come to finding religon. That was until last night. The opening act (The Fourty Fives) was pretty good but the crowd just didn't seem to be in to it. Then it happend, The Almighty Reverend Horton Heat hit the stage. The performance was excellent, but as a live Rev virgin, I had no idea... songs that I love took on a whole different life. Scott is an awesome drummer with live he had so much more power and the chemistry between The Rev and Jimbo is something that just needs to be seen. One song in particular the changed for me was 'Duel at the Two O'Clock Bell', a great instrumental on CD truely turned into something almost erotic. Sacred yet somehow profane. I have been SAVED and Thank God there is no going back. - Sun, 18 Jul 2004 1:02pm

Black Kitten User Info... | The Commodore - Sun, 18 Jul 2004 6:03pm
Zer0 User Info... | Been going to Rev shows since the early '90's and have seen him in many venues, including the much missed and certainly not forgotten Town Pump and that thing that should die a horrible death know as the "Warped Tour". The Commodore is the best setting to see the Rev and he owns that room. The last time I saw him at the Commodore with Nashville Pussy, he blew the roof of of the place. Last night was almost as good. His staples are still from his back catalog and the new stuff just doesn't hold up as well in my opinion. I was very pleased to hear great songs like 400 bucks, Marijuana, The Devils chasing me and Bails of Cocaine. He also did a funny song I hadn't heard before about a defunct Texas corn dog loving party band. After all these years, the Rev still rocks like no other. - Sun, 18 Jul 2004 10:05pm

The One After Two User Info... | the show with Nashville Pussy was radical! Personally, I don't really like his albums, just the live show. - Mon, 19 Jul 2004 8:52pm
Sati User Info... | I remember that show with NP. I knew those guys way back and was all excited to see them again, but just before they played I got nailed in the head with a beer bottle! Still don't know what exactly happened, just felt it cold against the side of my head.. might have fallen from the balcony, or might have been someone walking by! Kinda threw me off anyway.. didn't get into either band much, didn't have the energy hang out with any of them, and went home early. wo is me. - Mon, 19 Jul 2004 9:44pm
