Mr. Hell User Info... | Me and some close friends attended the Victoria premiere of Metallica's emo motion picture. Almost full theatre, lots of hooting and hollering and many familiar faces. The movie itself was much better than I was expecting! A lot of insightful scenes played out on the screen, giving answers to many questions about why Metallica are the way they are these days. Plenty of conflict between James and Lars to the point where it was embarrassing to watch at times. Kirk played the peacemaker and voice of reason. Bob Rock played the "it's not my business, but I think..." guy. Much less crying than I thought there would be and plenty of comic relief. A lot of petty band conflicts that were looking familiar and brought a knowing laugh to the musicians in attendence. Insight to how they dealt with Cliff's death was very interesting to see. Mustaine calling Lars his "little Danish friend" was worth the time spent in line. Apparently this independent movie won't be in theatres due to legal snares, so I would recommend renting it when it comes out (or downloading it if you're pissed at Lars). My one complaint was the dropping out of the sound for 5 minutes during part of the film. Most annoying! Thanks to The Zone and Monday Magazine for helping this premiere to happen! - Thu, 15 Jul 2004 5:14pm
ML7Mike User Info... | $40 000 per month over 2 years spent on a band therapist during the St Anger recordings! quittin time guys! One of the best parts of the movie was the look on Trujillo's face when they tell him he gets $1 million to join the band. Best actor in the whole movie was Lars dad. - Thu, 15 Jul 2004 6:30pm
Sati User Info... | I was in a theatre last night seeing a preview for it and I laughed hard out loud when Lars said "I'm feeling disrespected". As a matter of fact I laughed through most of it. I haven't had a tv in about 3 years so its funny to me that they're still in everyone's faces. - Thu, 15 Jul 2004 8:59pm

Colin Sick User Info... | I saw the premier in San Fran when I was down there on vacation. Like most people I didnt like St. Anger but the movie gave me a better understanding of where it came from. It was neat to see there real lives and while it didnt paint a preety picture it was the truth. - Fri, 16 Jul 2004 8:38am
ML7Mike User Info... | its funny to see Lars and James arguing about Lars shitty drumming and sound, and then James leaves, slams the door and isnt seen for 6 months as he is in rehab. - Fri, 16 Jul 2004 10:22am
Sudz User Info... | Great movie. First time I didn't mind a movie with a happy ending. Haven't been much of a fan of the music lately but it's kewl to see they're conquering the stresses of fame and personal crisis. Maybe their next album will kick arse (fingers crossed) METAL!!! Ooooohh Yeah!!!! - Fri, 16 Jul 2004 10:33am
_Griphin_ User Info... | Damn, if I had known which day that movie was playing, I would of loved to of seen it. But yeah, it'll probably come out on DVD next year (or on the net in the next few weeks, in alt.binaries.multimedia). But the one movie I'm pissed isn't on DVD over here, Kasparov and the Machine, which shows behind the scenes of the Deep Blue vs. Kasparov controversy. - Fri, 16 Jul 2004 11:30am
