alain User Info... | A hell of a lot of things went wrong at this show. Despite that, I still enjoyed myself. The bands did great for the sound they had to deal with, and the crowd was supportive as well. Anyone else see this show? Let me know what you thought. Thanks - Sun, 11 Jul 2004 12:47am
mystery geust User Info... | all I can say is wow. it's really nice to see a good turn out for an all ages show like that. It was totally disapointing as far as sound was concerned. But the bands rallied together and made the show work. Huge props go to Kayleigh for doing a good job. As well as Chris from kincaide for lending us his bass amp so we (fast jacket) could run our vocals through it. All the other bands played really well. I was totally impressed by Kincaide as had not heard them before. Hopefully the Fcc keeps on helping with all ages shows as it is a really greart idea. - Sun, 11 Jul 2004 7:48am
Nocturna User Info... | What a mess eh? I didn't arrive until after 10:00 and heard about the huge delay etc. Thanks to the crowd for being so patient despite the problems. That was the first try with that equipment. Apparently FCC isn't wired to deal with some of Creepy's gear, so they had to make some last minute substitutes. This experience will help us next time. Big thanks to all who donated their time, energy & equipment to make this show happen, Creepy, Scott, all the bands & numerous volunteers. It couldn't of happened without you. That show was for a good cause, with all proceeds to the Cancer Society, so it was well worth the trouble. Minus a couple of expenditures, $700+ was raised for the cause. It was nice to see people come together and help someone make their vision for a fundraiser a reality. A few items were left behind and are at the FCC front desk in lost & found: Small blue jacket w/ red stripes white tank top grey/black pouch with guitar cord(?) Maybe some other stuff...I'll check tomorrow. :) - Sun, 11 Jul 2004 7:58am
mcecill User Info... | Yeah, despite the seemingly endless sound issues, this show was fun. I'm glad to hear that $700 was raised for the cause. The turnout was really good, it's just a shame about the sound. Our set was plagued with technical difficulties, mainly that power bar that kept shutting off. We owe you guys an all ager with good sound. - Sun, 11 Jul 2004 1:21pm
Jacob's Fall User Info... | Hey Nocturna, that unknown grey/black pouch with guitar cord would be my footswitch. Thanks a hell of a lot for finding it, I'll call you about it. - Sun, 11 Jul 2004 1:58pm
gibson_freak User Info... | i think the boys from lythic blue should be thanked for grabbing some mic's from long and mcquade... since the sound guy forgot them... props to you boys of wonder - Sun, 11 Jul 2004 6:09pm
KinCrumb User Info... | The whole sound thing was so unprofessional. There was a spot light and a smoke machine? That's cool, but lets get the basics down first: Power, Microphones, maybe a stage monitor so the singer could hear what he was saying. I know the sound guy was just donating his time because it was a charity event, but he's also doing advertising for himself in the proccess, so you'd think he'd try a little harder to be professional. And all the problems could have been fixed if the sound guy showed up a litle earlier than 6:30 (when the show was suppose to start). Maybe I don't have all the facts on what happend with the sound set up, so if I'm wrong please send me an email and let me know, but in my opinion the performance of the sound guy was extremely pathetic and dissapointing. - enough ranting Thanks to all the bands for cutting their sets in half. I hate playing 20 minute sets as much as the next guy, but the last thing anyone wanted to do was cut into anyone else's set. Props. To all the people that came to the show to see the bands... You guys rock. A lot of patiance and some dancing to boot. People who say the Victoria music scene sucks, don't know what the fuck they're are talking about. Also, the stage that was built for the show was really cool. Way better than playing on the floor. Peace out- - Sun, 11 Jul 2004 7:19pm
Joni User Info... | Actually, the stage is available to rent for pretty much any show I believe... it belongs to Livevic Scott, get in contact with him if you're interested in using it sometime. - Sun, 11 Jul 2004 8:54pm
josh User Info... | good job kayleigh! a couple little delays and such, but we got to hear all the bands. Thanks to fast jacket for giving out all those cds, i think about every other person got one, thats pretty cool. hoochy girls are always fun to watch. i think kincaide deffinatly had the mosh for the night and ill be seeing them at warped tour :D. Lythic Blue was my favorurite by far though, sounded like most of the sound problems had been fixed by that point. YEEHAW! - Mon, 12 Jul 2004 12:11am
Livevic Scott User Info... | < shameless plug >Yeah Chris that thar stage be mine, I built it a couple years ago for a series of show's I was doing for Choke/Monnen/Satanic Surfers and have since used it at a bunch of other shows. We rent it out for $100 to anyone who wants to use it . - Mon, 12 Jul 2004 8:41am
Gare User Info... | Its great that much money was raised. Its too bad about that whole sound fiasco, I think my mic was on for about 1 of the 5 songs we played. Can't win em all eh? At least Lythic came to the rescue. P.S. Did anyone else know one of the dudes from Virtual Elvis lives next door to the center? - Mon, 12 Jul 2004 10:16am
Nocturna User Info... | Okies...there's another lost & found item. Grey sweatshirt with "slackers" written on it and a Hoochy Girls pin. Also I seem to have two claims to the grey/black pouch thing (unless they're the same person). You must identify contents to claim....and bring me chocolate ;) - Mon, 12 Jul 2004 5:00pm
kay User Info... | Yeah, I'm really sorry about that everyone, I was freaking out. It just seemed to be problem after problem and I thought it wasn't even going to happen, the bands and the crowd were really great though for not coming up and yelling at me! thanks to everyone who did anything, and the crowd for not leaving...all in all, I might do it again sometime, though I'll make sure a sound check is done! - Mon, 12 Jul 2004 6:50pm
Mark Wallace (Bass Hoochy) User Info... | I think that sweatshirt belongs to Adam from The Hoochy Girls. His # is 592-9501. - Tue, 13 Jul 2004 7:22am
