mcecill User Info... | By far the most diverse lineup at a show I've been to in Victoria. Five bands sharing the stage in one night, all doing very different things musically. The crowd was decent, not huge, not small. Thanks to Jesse for putting it all together, and for having us play. Staaf Only... what can I say, outrageous. Amazing guitar playing, LOUD and raw. It was cool to play on a bill with so much diversity. Great show overall. Anyone else??? - Sat, 15 May 2004 12:52pm
purtle User Info... | the band: BRAND X The circumstances surrounding the genesis of Brand X are lost in the mists of time. Suffice to say that, some time in 1975, its various members ran into one another in a recording studio and made an album so obscure no-one seems to have a copy of it: 'The Eddie Howell Gramophone Record' (later released as the 'Man from Manhattan'). The musicians on this recording were: Robin Lumley - keyboards John Goodsall - guitars Percy Jones - bass Phil Collins - drums amd Jack Lancaster - various wind instruments - Sat, 15 May 2004 2:17pm
staceybatt User Info... | i regrettably missed staff only, but for some reason, despite my being sick, i REALLY liked this show. it was so refreshing to watch so many diverse bands. i loved it. tom waits covers are always good, as are many stringed instuments other than guitars. screaming boys=great and glokenspeils (SP?) well, it doesnt get much cooler really. - Sat, 15 May 2004 3:14pm
KinCrumb User Info... | Children of Celebrities? These guys had their shit down packed. I don't evan like these guys's style of music, but they played it so well, I was blown away. The Winks were pretty fucked up, but in a good. I thouroughly enjoyed whatching the bands. And Staff Only.... Lead singer/ Guitar player was phinominal. Great singer, great guitar player, amazing stage presence, and screaming to boot. Fuck YAH! - Sat, 15 May 2004 8:43pm
Brand X Media User Info... | Glad you guys had a good time. I sure did. I didn't think last years show could have been topped - but I was wrong. I just wanted to thank everybody who played. Children Of Celebrities did an awsome job, the winks were fantastic, Kincaide were great, Gashly crumb are tighter than ever and Staaf Only turned Logan's into some sort of bad ass carnival. Definitly the friendliest and most enthusiastic line-up of bands I've ever worked with in one night. I just wish there was a bit more time for each band. Thanks to everybody who came out, and thanks to the staff for always being cool to work with. I was wondering if anybody on LiveVic got any photos of the bands? My digicam's flash broke so I was hoping somebody else might have a couple they could send? Anyways, it was great. http://www.brandxmedia.ca - Mon, 17 May 2004 8:23am
_Griphin_ User Info... | Ah ha! You indeed did show up, I was wondered where you were. Good celebration this year, but I had to leave before the end of the Staaf Only set. (Last call beacon went up, so it was off to the Strath for 2 Hugo's Porter sleeves!!!) - Tue, 18 May 2004 6:35am
el fuckface-o User Info... | ah yes. logan's. where the mice shit in your beer, and the sonics bring a tear. where the sightlines really suck, and the punks smell rotten as fuck. where the bathrooms aren't clean, and the floor puke is green. where the keg lines are clogged, and hopefully griphin is flogged. - Wed, 19 May 2004 2:41pm
_Griphin_ User Info... | Flogged, perhaps, just as long as I make it home in 1 piece :) - Thu, 20 May 2004 9:31pm
