Brand X Media User Info... | Not to many local acts are given a tribute show in their honor, and this one was well deserved. The bands all did great reniditions of Smith's songs - Half of Chet, Dwayne Strolm (misspelled?), David Chenery, and a hot dog eating champion all in one night - who could complain? Most notably I'd have to say Run Chico Run's rendition of 'Robot Twin', Amy Honey, and Ryan Beaties cover of 'I get Drunk were the songs that really got me right in the ribs. The out-of-control over the top poetry interjections were also pretty damn entertaining. - Fri, 9 Apr 2004 12:27pm
lonemonk User Info... | Good Lord! Wicked explosions of bluegrass, spoken word, Ford Pier cell-phone dictation, Uber-sexy harmonizing hostesses, Scott Henderson, Avian-flu remedies, Wiener wrestling, Banjos, Saw, Kazoo, Accordian and all manner of stringed delights; Simultaneously wailing the prayers of a drunken bard of the arts. I'm still hungover from the conceptual continuity of it all. I hope the poor robot made it home ok... PS. Only David himself can decide whether ya'll hear the recording. - Sat, 10 Apr 2004 10:45pm
Pooetry User Info... | I didn't make it to this show, but when I saw my roommate the next day, he looked a little saddened by the fact that he'd been defeated for his weiner belt. Congrats to the new champion. - Sun, 11 Apr 2004 7:14am

lonemonk User Info... | Hey Pooetry I'll let you in on a little secret that might help your friend Mr. Rombs; That 'Jack' fellow still had un-consumed wiener-remnants in his food-hole and he was seen by me to be slowly chewing following the victory. I have the evidence on audio cassette, but only a slow-mo video-replay would set the record straight. The scene was too chaotic at that point for me to intervene, but from my vantage point, your roomie is still the wiener-eatin', beer swillin' champion of the world. - Thu, 15 Apr 2004 6:23pm
Pooetry User Info... | Thank you for your cooperation, lonemonk. After consulting with my collegue, Mr. R, from what I understand, the proper authorities have been notified about this dispicable subject. Sincerely, Pooetry, PI - Fri, 16 Apr 2004 3:08pm
